Engine cutout and loud pop noise under heavy acceleration

Hi everyone i have a 2008 GSR with 110k. Only mods are cobb stage 1 with cobb intake and some new intercooler piping. Whenever i step on the throttle, about a second after the turbo kicks in the car cuts out and i hear two loud pops. If I gradually accelerate nothing happens. I recently changed spark plugs and the car seemed to be running rich because the plugs were pretty black. I did notice a positive difference with the new plugs but the problem is still there. I also reverted back to the stock tune and the problem still occurs. Could it be an exhaust leak or boost leak?

Thanks for the help!

Male sure intercooler pipes aren't popping off or loose. Also I would do a boost leak test too.

The question is about the new item. As stated, check over your work and look for clamps or a torn boot. If you didn't have new piping, I would have said a compressor surge, but that would mean damage to the comp section of some other item. DIrty air filter?

Unfortunately the issue was happening before the new intercooler piping. I replaced the piping because I thought there was a boost leak, there could still be a leak since I installed it myself.
