ACD System Re-Design *Idea*

I want to ""lock"" the ACD in my Evo X. To preface, this is a purpose- built 1/4-1/2 car completely rewired on a standalone with a custom 160a Saturn alternator setup so with that being said, *SIMPLICITY IS PRIORITY WITH THIS CAR*. Don't care about AYC, ASC, the rear diff, gauge cluster, it's all gone. Just focusing on the ACD.

Here's the basic idea- since the ACD is engaged by pressure, and there is no return line, It 'SHOULD' be possible to attach a nipple to the t-case or a short line with a regulator/ gauge that can be pressurized by air or hydraulic that will engage the ACD clutch pack. Correct?? To me it seems that there has to be a way to give a constant pressure to the packs and keep it engaged after deleting the pump assembly entirely.

I have considered Co2 used in the same way it is on a wastegate to hold the valve down when running high boost. I just can't figure out how I'd adapt this to the hydraulics in the t-case.

Any input would be great. I really want this to work lol

Yea this is possible using an Accusump. In fact a couple shops like English Racing and Kozmic Motorsports have already done it. They describe it as using the Accusump to pressurize the ACD clutch packs and have the ACD at full lock during the run.

Alternatively, I believe its possible to delete the ACD from the Transfercase. That way you can run a LSD and not have to use ACD. However I dont know anyone that makes the ACD delete cover for the Evo X Transfercase. You can ask Magnus Motorsports if they can do it.
I have always wondered what times a fully mechanical Evo X would put down with a deleted ACD and Evo 8/9/Ralliart Rear Differential.

Accusump is a good suggestion. I talked to the English guys at TX2K this year and they use the MoTeC diff controller to lock the diff. They may have used an accusump before but made no mention of it. Also I haven't seen a delete kit or cover either.
As far as deleting, I considered pin and welding the basket in the same way you would on an awd honda swap. But the Evo has so much more going on inside the ACD housing, it would be much easier said then done

I drew up this simplified example for another site and I know the people that will comment on this won't need this reference but heres the basic idea. I've also considered a small hydraulic hand pump to create line pressure as needed. Anyone see any flaws or have ideas??

Ever since my ACD pump on my ralliart died I've been thinking about alternatives to getting a OEM pump.

I'm extremely interested to see what alternatives we can come up with. If it's a simple, one-way, on-off pressurization I may be able to use almost any kind of hydraulic pump to actuate it.

Did you progress any further on this? I have made up a system using a brake master cylinder with custom seals to cope with DX3 fluid. I found this thread while Googling to see what pressures I should be targeting.

I have the master cylinder being forced under pressure by a gas strut. It’s pretty basic but seems to work so far
