Quote: Since Mitsu is targeting a new consumer with the Evo X (a guy who would consider a 3-series, A4 or C-class) they had better step up their game in both the sales and service areas. People considering those other vehicles have a level of expectations far beyond what most Mitsu dealerships will ever be able to deliver. We all put up with the crappy service because we love our car so much. Plus, many of us enjoy doing routine maintenance ourselves. This new customer they are targeting with the Evo X most likely will not put up with crappy service, nor will they want to do anything themselves.

Mitsu's got themselves in a predicament by attracting a new consumer. They're writing a check their dealerships can't cash.

can i vote this as the smartest most on point comment made on evom in a while?

+1000. if youre ever in philly i owe you a beer

I'd rather have an X. If it weren't for the X I wouldn't even be looking at an EVO.

The service in my country is really bad too. I have many many horror histories about the crap service they provide.
The mechanics do not know anything how to service an Evo = Problems!!!

Also there are Mitsubishi dealerships closing left and right. There are not many choices to take your car to. Like I said before there is only 1 my area.

I remember when I had my lancer ES service was crap... aand the only dealer near by now sell KIAs..LOL

What caused hyundai adn KIA to over take mitsubishi in the POS car market? Many consumers actually consider KIA adn option now and not mitsu... what happened?

Reasons im not buying X...

New engine. 1st gen car. Dont know how long they R&D the X.

BTW, about mitsu targeting BMW, Mercedes consumer with the X, ROFL dont think so. If anything they're targeting people who cant drive stick. Or that guy who got a promotion and drives a civic/integra, you get my drift. People still laugh at a $30k+ mitsu.

LoL maybee mitsu will charge $100+ to oil change the X, being new and all.

Unfortunately, they are targeting a BMW/Mercedes/Audi type of customer. Do a search on this forum or do some research on Google. It's in Mitsu's own documents that they are targeting that audience.

Quote: I love the car, but I hate the hell hole Mitsubishi service. I've owned Evo 8 before and I had extremely bad service. I was lied to in one instance where they were going to replace something they screwed up and didn't. Locally (Richmond VA) there is only one 1 dealership in the 70 mile radius to me. The dealership is very old, run down, and dirty. The people that works there are like some small used car dealership. Originally there were 2 dealerships near me that I could service my car but one closed down.

A friend of mine had even worse service experience with his Evo MR north of me in Maryland area. He went to several Mitsubishi dealerships to try to get good service but they all failed him. At some point they even bent his door hinge and bent it back in place after he found out about it. He was telling me Mitsubishi dealership he took his car too originally closed down as well.

I've tried to email Mitsubishi corporate about why I am not buying another Mitsubishi product but they don't even have email contact on their website. They have great products but horrible service to support it. The local Scion dealership was 300 times better than the Mitsubishi service. Whenever I took my car in I'm always thinking to myself, what else are they going to break this time.

With Evo X being brand new from the ground up I don't feel confident that the local hell hole dealership knows how to service it correctly. I'm sure there will be recall/warranty work to be done on the first year car. The new Evo X is very sophisticated and I don't think they'll know what to do with it.

Sorry for the long rant but it’s been on my chest for a long time, now I don’t own an Evo any longer. And probably won’t be back to Mitsubishi again unless they do something dramatic about their dealerships.

I have the same concern. I love the car, but I have bad service experience with both mitshu dealers here in Hartford CT.

somebody should start another thread in response to this one called: Why nobody, including mitsubishi, cares if you buy an EVO X or not.
