pricing of evo x in canada vs GTR pricing in USA
The other thing you got to remember is that those prices are suggested retail prices; most dealerships are going to add markup, and with the markup depending where you living freight will differ substantially. Also, different markets, such as Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton, are going to have greater demand due to the smoking hot economy; this will also allow dealers to push prices up. Here in Calgary, dealers have been taking a $10,000 down deposit on the Evo X for the last year, by now the list is fairly long. And from what I have heard both here and by my friends dad who owns a dealership here in Calgary is that there is going to be a very limited number of evos initially imported into North America, that being said, I highly doubt that supply is going to meet demand and simple economics says that this will raise the price.

I think you will find most dealerships in Canada sell cars at best for MSRP.
I have yet to see an inflated price for anything from 911 Turbos, ZO6s, STIs, M3s, etc..
At least in Sask and MB that is the case.

For your #s
42k CAD = 42,253 USD
48k CAD = 48,289 USD
Definitely something wrong with Canadian Car/Book/Magazine/etc prices when compared to the actual exchange rate. If I were Canadian, I'd be driving across the border for all my material purchases.
any evo from 2003(i think) to 2008 isnt importable from the states to canada otherwise id be on my horse down to the states to buy one.
and its all because of the 8km/h crash test we have up here. thats why they have to push the bumpers out a couple of inches for the canadian version
