Man, Mitsubishi really try to lower the weight of the EVO X with the use of aluminum, too bad it is still chubby.

They're 2 piece rotors; a cast iron vaned rotor attached to an aluminum hat center section. Most high performance brake systems utilize an aluminum hat set up, including the carbon ceramic Porsche and Ferrari systems. It has 2 benefits: saves about 5 lbs of unsprung weight per corner and when is gets hot it doesn't warp because the rotor can expand/contract separate from the center hub section.
