Since we are all keeping up with both the Evo X and STI news, I figured I would post this here. Happy (or not) reading!
The MT straight line numbers:
2008 STI: 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.4 at 100.5 mph
2006 STI 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.0 at 103.5
Evo X GSR: 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds and 1/4 mile in 14.0 at 96.9 mph*
* the Evo X MT tested was not in tip-top shape http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/video.html

There should be a * next to the Evo X GSR results as the car was not in tip-top condition when it was tested. Just use it as a tentative number, but don't reserve final judgement until there is a more legitimate "healthy" car tested. Regardless, its still going to be slower than either the new or the old STI.
Another one bites the dust.

the difference between .01g is big but .08 is huge, they both have 8.5 inch wheels and 245s so the difference in rubber would have to be significant but I dont think that tires amount for the whole .08
It was not in the motor trend video, it was in the article. They said the engine was a bit "wheezy" at 7,000rpms. MT claimed that it was due to some pre-production ECU gremlins that were the cause of the lackluster high rpm performance.
Wow, I hope for their sake that is true.
