Even though I am disappointed with the performance numbers, it still suits my needs really well. AWD for the horrible Vancouver weather, sedan (fits 5), looks good (subjective), pretty fast (since we have no previous evo 9 to compare it with, I am not as disappointed as you guys) and it is a pretty good bang for buck .

I have looked at other options as well, cars such as 08 STI performs really well, but I can't buy something that I think looks ugly as sin. Legacy is too boring looking for me. BMW Xdrive car is out of my budget, same with infiniti + mercedes + audi. I don't want a SUV either. Also, I am not really looking for a performance monster like the 9, so even if I could import one I probably wouldn't be able to live with the spartan interior.

This is a guy coming from a G35 coupe.
Subaru STI 2007 still would be a lot faster and available in Canada.
I was supposed to put a deposit and will be waiting after hearing thoses poor reviews. Lets hope Mitsubishi listen even if it'S their first launch in Canada. The 2008 STI will kill it.

and this is target market, so it sounds like the Evo X will in fact do well then!!

They are aiming at those that can afford the G35 but want performance at the expense of luxury (in relative terms!). . . lost their hardcore group, ie the current VIII/IX owners, but there are more people that are like you then all of us. . .

dunno bout that...seeing as the 5MT GSR model will probably be modded to death once aftermarket parts come out.

evo x owners start off on a clean slate, avoiding the reputation and noteriety of the evo 8 and 9's....

If your coming from the G35 and like luxury/performance GT coupe, why not wait until the G37 AWD version comes out?

I am not digging the looks of G37 and it is a bit on the heavy side (it will even be heavier with AWD) , and besides I need a sedan now, not a coupe.

As of now, if my budget allows, I would probably get a S5 or 335xi, but it doesn't so I still have my eyes set on the evo x.

One thing that is pretty cool is that there will only be around 500-700 evo x coming to Canada, in the first year, so I will be "special"

I am don't like the looks of 07 STI, I think it looks like ***. I still think 04-05 looks the best, and the new Legacy looks might fine too, but a bit too old for my age.

My biggest concern as of now is the pricing of the Evo X, since we won't be able to import one from .

You guys know there is an Infiniti G35x right? All wheel drive G35... 4 doors... and it's like mid to upper 30kish car in the U.S.

I actually was thinking of getting a G35x but I liked how much faster the Evo was (on paper/hype). Now that we are finding out it's slower, I may actually look toward the Infiniti.

I was planning on buying a GSR 5spd with SSS package in Jan/Feb. I probably will not buy at all now.

I don't like the options/packages (no manual MR? that's about as stupid as Dodge releasing the new 5.000 batch of Challengers ONLY in Automatic and only in Orange!...)

Est prices are a little more than I expected. I may have been willing to pay them had the actual performance numbers matched the 'hyped' numbers, i.e. 0-60 in 4.5 not the 4.9-5.1 we are seeing.

I could have gotten a mazda speed 6 brand new off the lot with like 9 miles for $27k that is JUST about as fast as the EVO X.

SO tell me what is the extra $10k going to get me? better steering around corners I will probably never need? I think I can find a lot better stuff to spend that cash on.

I have been banging my head against the wall with this car for the last few months now. Seems like I keep making concession after concession on this car the more I find out about it.

Wanted a 6 speed mt mr... no

OK fine then I will settle for the 5 speed just give me the suspension/bbs upgrades...nope

290ish hp and 3517 lbs- this is the biggest pill to swallow.

I am one of those older potential buyers you all keep mentioning. I came close to getting a 9 but like the look of the 10 better. S-AWC also fantastic technology, but the initial performance numbers on the 10 are dissappointing. I should not have to modify a brand new EVO, void the warranty, etc just to get the car to do what already has been done.

My hope for the 10 was that it was going to continue with the intense performance capabilities of the previous models but have a bit more refined look- There is no reason you can not have both in a car like this!

Anyway the jury is still out but I am starting to look at other options. I refuse to consider the STI- brutal looking redesign. Never a big fan of BMW, audi etc. Preowned C4S an option. I was really planning on the EVO but now things are up in the air... we'll see.

Damn I wish we could get the FQ cars in this country...

Go with the new M3 55K .....or the Nissan GTR 65K.
40K for the new evo (slower than the IX) is not good.

BTW I have a 1990 Eagle Talon built to the max and I love it..:-)

I had a call from a dealer few days ago to make sure I want one..I told him to cancel.......
