Anyway the jury is still out but I am starting to look at other options. I refuse to consider the STI- brutal looking redesign. Never a big fan of BMW, audi etc. Preowned C4S an option. I was really planning on the EVO but now things are up in the air... we'll see.

Damn I wish we could get the FQ cars in this country...

i am in the same boat as you. i think you need to definitely take a wait and see approach, and decide when all the information for the USDM model comes out.

about the 290 hp, mitsubishi is always supposedly conservative with their numbers so expect the evo x to be pushing 300+ for the usdm models.

325 what? Misfires? No. If your talking hp or whp...keep dreaming. If it puts down anything even near 270 whp, i'd be impressed.

Agreed, will definitely give it a chance. I hope they get this car right.

I actually was thinking of getting a G35x but I liked how much faster the Evo was (on paper/hype). Now that we are finding out it's slower, I may actually look toward the Infiniti.

I was planning on buying a GSR 5spd with SSS package in Jan/Feb. I probably will not buy at all now.

I don't like the options/packages (no manual MR? that's about as stupid as Dodge releasing the new 5.000 batch of Challengers ONLY in Automatic and only in Orange!...)

Est prices are a little more than I expected. I may have been willing to pay them had the actual performance numbers matched the 'hyped' numbers, i.e. 0-60 in 4.5 not the 4.9-5.1 we are seeing.

I could have gotten a mazda speed 6 brand new off the lot with like 9 miles for $27k that is JUST about as fast as the EVO X.

SO tell me what is the extra $10k going to get me? better steering around corners I will probably never need? I think I can find a lot better stuff to spend that cash on.

lol if it were 4.9-5.1 i think more would not mind that, but C&D and motor Trend both came in the mind 5's
5.4 and 5.3 so at a 14.0 1/4 mile at 96 Mph that was not good enough. I called my dealer in Ann Arbor, mi and told them I will call them back if i wanted to keep my position at #5. I dont see myself waiting for a car that is thus far not impressed me in anything besides the looks"IMO". I am now leaning more tward the New BMW 135I at a base 35k not bad, considering it would rock the new Evox in the stright line, i doubt it around the track considering "open Diff " only time will tell along with a test drive

If the X is priced less than the sti i will still buy it. If its anywhere near 40k then ill look at the sti or 335i. I have said before--a regular wrx(224hp) does 0-60 in 5.6 sec, X in 5.4---this is just unacceptable to me and im sure many others. Also, why not give us the opportunity to buy the rs with a convenience package like the VIII and IX? Maybe then this choice would appease the evo faithful with 200 or 300lbs less while letting the geezers have what they want.

I think i read somewhere else on this forum someone saying the RS is only around 75 lbs lighter than the MR!

I don't understand you guys who say you are not a fan of BMW or Audi. . .what is there not too like? Too expensive?? How much do you think the X will cost?

MY problem with Audi or BMW is the cost of maintenance and long term ownership. You do know that the BMW and Audi dealerships are 140 dollars an hour or more.

And the cost of parts is stupidly ridiculous.

Audi's are slow until the RS line and at that point the E92 M3 is a better performer. BMW's are very expensive to own. I used to cringe at the costs I saw my warranty covering. 5K a year easy.
