Question Any Mitsu reps on the forum?

They had one guy from Infiniti on the G35 boards before the G37 release, taking questions and providing data when he could.

Does Mitsu have anyone who comes down to these boards? I'd also be interested to hear what Mitsu insiders really think about the EVO X? Are they happy? Dissapointed?

The majority fan base from reading on these boards and other boards are dissapointed thus far in EVO X.

i think the old 4g63 will never be put on to another car again because it will never meet uncle SAM's emission standards

I'm kind of curious about this myself. I know that MMNA is aware of EvoM's importance and has worked with the site on things in the past, but I'm not sure if anyone from MMNA actually checks in regularly/officially. If they do, they don't make themselves known. It would be nice if there were an official representative here, that we could label (like we do vendors/moderators) so we'd have at least one person we could trust to give accurate info.

If we labeled them like that, they'd be the EvoM whipping boy.....

"my warranty"
"my wing"
"my brembos"
etc.

If we had a person like that, I would highly recommend they turn off PMs, and we'd have to give him/her their own forum section.

I used to frequent the SRT4 forums and they have/had SRT Engineers come to the website on various occassions for a couple hours and answer questions

HEHE yeah there would have to be VERY special rules for reps should they be known HERE...or they would run crying from the keyboard. HOWEVER, I think a MMNA rep is shooting a bit low, as all they do is pass on filtered (and often wrong or lost in translation) info from corporate. what would really be cool is access to some of the engineers on some key systems on the evo x project and have a list of questions for them to answer. that's probably the only way they would do it.

ONE QUESTION burns hot in my mind...WHY is it insufficiently powered? sst or new 5 speed can't handle it? direct injection unavailable? what kind of power gains do they have in the works for the evo XI or even the X.5 or whatever?
another question i have...what EXACTLY makes a usdm x heavier than a jdm example? i, for one, would feel safe in a japanese car, and wouldn't mind putting the american evo on a diet to match it's japanese counterpart if it can be done. like how many airbags do we really need? I personally don't like the idea of airbags anyway. and how much safer are evos with 5 mph bumpers? i mean, i've been driving 16 years and have never been in an accident...so if it's just the cost of the intercooler that warrants such a hefty crash bar, but it's just as safe, why not remove it? also, what IS the deal with the new sst? can it handle more power or is it maxed out? if it can handle more, how much? if it's maxed out, does it need a hardware upgrade, a software upgrade, or both?

I am moreso disappointed in Mitsubishi than the X. I think the car is going to be cool. . .but thats until I know how much the damn thing is going to cost! The GSR should be no where near BMW 135i territory otherwise it makes the decision for me.

-Car is out in a month, no pricing, no options (official)
-Keep telling us the X is faster, and not using USDM cars like we are stupid enough not to know the difference.
-Their website is has been absolutely useless.
-Keeping their dealers as uninformed as we are.
-They have no one qwelling the negative comments or putting rumors to rest on these or any forums for that matter, and the people on these boards are the reason that company continues to exist I'm sure.

Do you think a Mitsu rep would get on here and tell us info before its on mitsucars.com?

LOL to clarify, i only have one burning hot question...which was stated initially. the questions immediately following it were merely guesses at the answer. i then moved on to some other concerns, prefaced by "another question..." the answers to which do not invoke the same burning on my mind...
