as far as i have seen, the STi community respects the EVO alot more than the EVO respects the STi.

BTW i drive an EVO now, so this isnt' really biased.

Either way, i love the IX's but im not a fan of the X.

The new STi is growing on me.
I agree with you fully in regards to the communities, there's certainly a little more maturity and more people that respect many cars over on the Suby forums. I'm lovin the STI wagon, I would have bought an STI wagon in '03 if it was available...
Right now I'm a bit disappointed in both cars overall, but if I can get the faster better handling car and it has the utility of a wagon combined with Subaru reliability I might just be in. However, keeping my current Evo, modding the crap out of it, and getting a second car once it's paid off is what I'm leaning towards right now.

Evos and STi owners a very different breed From the ones I come in contacted with.

Both are cool. STi resemble hippies: laidback, conversation on the line of "How is the family or work." Evo owners on the otherhand: very competitive, conversation usually revolves around the evo or something performance oriented.

hmmm...i seem to be more laid back....not competitive so much....how did i end up with a mitsu?....lol...maybe cuz it looks better....oh and there is no subaru dealer in town....well actually this is my first mitsu car ever....always stuck with toyota, honda, nissan b4....probably a bad choice to give mitsu a chance.....we'll see how long it lasts

1998, hmmmmmmmmmmm, what Evo could that have been, lets think, oh yeah, the greatest Evo that ever lived, Evo VI (probably TME). 1998, yeah the time when cars were still fun and not luxurious overweight pigs with safety equipment that is supposed to compensate for lack of common sense, judgment, training, and skills

You do realize that the US spec cars are gonna be even more of a difference, right? Evo gets a few hundred pounds slapped on and the STI gains some displacment... not looking good for the home team.

We're gonna have to start using the excuse other cars use against us...

"Well, at least the X will pull more *** than the STI!"

Well.....i would like to own a sti.....to S%^# on it daily then drive my evo away but honestly about there being hope the X, dont lie your self. Look what happened to the 96- 99 eclipse gsx its history now and the eclipse has become more of a womans car than a sports car ( dont mean to offend any one ) I have seen some hawt pics of the car but as far as performance goes nothing will ever compare to the 4g63t. Now post some pics of wide body evo 8's to make the world a better place.

The Evo has never had an issue lapping Tsukuba faster than any normal STI in just about every test that has been done there. This coming from a former and most likey future Subaru owner.

The Japanesesseses get way better Sti's then we do. They get the EJ-207 I believe which is a 2.0, forged, and a screamer. Great cars they are.
