Is 'teksid' a certain grade of aluminum? I've never heard of it before?
I know Ford tried to use a forced induction/aluminum block combo on the latest Cobra and KR but the blocks couldn't handle the power so they went back to the iron block. Nice car it's to bad about the weight though. I've driven many of the new Cobra's on track and man are they pigs. The standard car with the Ford Racing suspension pack wasn't bad though.

How comparable is the '08 Lancer ECU to the EVO X? It looks like WORKS will have flashes available for the new Lancer shortly. Does that mean the Evo is not too far behind?

Im fairly sure WORKS has had the X ecu to work on for a little bit....they didn't necessarily say that to me, but it sure sounded like that.

My $$ is on WORKS to be the first US company to crack the ECU code and start tuning

teksid refers to the aluminum blocks based on the overseas (europe) plat in which they were manufactured. 96-98 cobra production blocks. in ford's latest retarted run, they tried skimping out on the material as usual instead of handing it to italians to do it right.

even my sn95 is extremely heavy, it's depressing.

Got it. thanks. I didn't realize they built some of the blocks overseas. I just figured they all came out of the Windsor casting plant.

Not true. They do have a standard Lancer ECU though.

I appreciate the comment. Perhaps I need to integrate "Sarcasm" markers into my posts so that it isn't mistaken for sincerity.

Oh… people are laughing at me again.

So far......my take is that the new Evo X engine may rev better and be lighter, but will not hold out as well. I have a stack ot tests and mods waiting for the new arival, but im more exited about the potential of the new Skyline GT35R than the evo at this point.

As for the software comments - it will be as easy to tune as the current model using ECUTek. Already have the Subaru software and Can Ban is merly a different communication protocol. The rest remains mostly unchanged from the IX.
