I honestly still think the MR has more toys but....
I would still do the Evo for it's body stying. Is it worth 40k? We'll see.

^thanks for the info! That blows! I know smg and tiptronic are different, but smg feels like tip. I don't know, maybe its just me. I just remember hearing a rumor that the mr was going to come in a 6 speed manual later.

Isn't the mr faster than the gsr? From what the dealer told me (he seemed like he knew what he was talking about) the IX mr spools faster than the IX gsr?

i can get alot of cars for that price, and Mitsu fit and finish isn't worth that kinda of jack...
Interesting from a guy with a VW. I'm very pleased with the fit and finish of my Lancer and of its reliability. I've never been impressed by VWs in that they claim superior German engineering, but in all my experience with used ones they tend to have lots of electrical probelms and some mechanical issues.

I much prefer the real dollar value of performance and content Mitsu gives with the evo rather then the preceived notion of a "better" built German auto. The same goes with other vehicles in that price range. You can certainly buy more luxury, but you can't buy more performance for that kind of money IMO.

Dont be retardo, they will tell you anything to get you to spend more dough. Nothing launches faster than a manual, that SST nonsense is for the little boys & girls who can't or wont drive stick. It was a selling point that Mitsubishi decided could help boost sales. Too bad at around 40k I don't think they will sell half as many MRs as GSR's. The only thing nicer on the MR are the BBS wheels. And you can get those at tirerack.com for around 1600 shipped. Anyone who pays one cent over MSRP is a moron. let these cars sit at the dealerships for 2 weeks to a month and see how fast you can get one below msrp.
