EVO X lovers and haters and converts
EVO X lovers and haters and converts
So, just wanted to share something I noticed happen over the last few months as final pics and specs of the evo X (and STi) were released. I think like many, I didn't know what to think of the looks of the evo X. Agreed, at first it looked too Acura + Audi euro flavor, I wasn't sure how I liked the nose of the car, too flat nosed. Of course, I wasn't complaining in reality. I do love the evo 8 and 9's for sure, which has been the same look since the evo 7.
I slowly started to like the looks better as I saw more pictures from the recent auto shows (LA, Detroit, etc). I saw a photoshopped pic which lowered the evo x. Then we started seeing pics from Japanese tuners. Then this week the Tokyo Auto Salon pics arrive!!!!! :0 yeah buddy. I don't think there's any doubt an auto enthusiast can look at the Varis or Ohlins or even the Ralliart cars and not fall in love with the EVO X!!!
So, here's my obersavation and opinion: If you're hanging out reading and posting on forums like evom.net and nasioc.com, etc. you are someone who likes modified cars. Factory cars may not look quite right, may be missing that something unique, may look "ugly" compared to the previous generations, but as soon as a good tuning company gets there hands on it, they fix the factory issues (too heavy, not quite the hp/tq figures you were hoping for when the Concept promised 320 or 340hp,
ha ha).
The one thing that someone on a budget and who has a family and is smack dab in the middle of the middle class and doesn't want to go in debt just to own a car, the price of the EVO X and even the STi is just too high. But, the benefit of the price tag of the last few gens of EVO and STi is it keeps it a "limited edition" type of car, a not so easily obtainable car. So, I'm in favor of the standard WRX and the hopefully soon to be released Lancer Ralliart. Then it keeps the evo and STi in a higher class.
Anyway, felt like posting my thoughts on the love it, hate it ideas about the EVO (and STi for that matter).
Long live the EVO and hopefully I can afford an evo 8, 9 or 10 in a year or two when I pay off the Odyssey.

yeah navigation is stupid...like 2k for it...u can go get one at circuit city or wherever for like $100....and it works just as good....only people that need it are ones that travel a lot and i'm sure most if not all of those don't drive an evo...lol...they should try to get the evo under 30k....there are enough expensive cars out there already in the 35k-40k range
sophisticated dual clutch transmission
sophisticated, advanced AWD system
sophisticated, amazing handling capabilities
35k-40k sounds just about right.
i don't need to justify my purchase of an Evo X MR to any idiot, just like most of the evo 8/9 owners don't need to justify their purchase of their cars.
the dual clutch transmission makes the evo x mr the perfect daily driver/performance car and that's what I want.

Yup, that's the biggest dissapointment about the Evo is it's packaging prices, too much if you ask me.
