The Ralliart doesn't come standard with the Recaros...they are optional.

Available equipment and options to include: Recaro seats, HID headlights, 650-watt Rockford Fosgate 9-speaker audio system, Sirius satellite radio, power sunroof, and a 30-gigabyte hard drive navigation system with digital music server.

The price difference between the RA and GSR may make the RA seem not worth it, but remember it comes with the SST, and if you want that, you would have to to buy the MR, not GSR. If you dont want an SST, then the GSR is your only real option

Thank you! This is my entire argument. If they are going to offer this model, I would say change the hood from the "Evo" hood. No chrome front molding. No Recaros.

I want my Evo to feel and look like an Evo. I hate knowing some poser kids are going to throw Evo badges on their RA's since they look so damn similar.

Looks like the IX and X debate is over and here comes the X and RA debate.

It dilutes the image of the evo because they want to sell more cars at the same time.
thing to remember #1.) mitsu sells cars to take your money. they do not care if you buy a RA or a GSR or a MR, as long as you give them your money.

thing to remember #2.) mitsu has already projected a low sales target for the evo trim. although more than the IX, the X is supposed to be a low volume car.

thing to remember #3.) the evo is a halo car. the technology they develop for their low volume evo must trickle down to the masses, otherwise it was for naught. the lower end cars are supposed to look and feel like, but not be the halo car. in that regard the lancer and lancer RA is a great interpretation of the evo at a much lower cost with ample trickle down tech.

thing to remember #4.) the evo to the average buyer is a RICE car. sure WE know what it's all about, but ask the MILLIONS of other consumers and you will get blank stares. show them a pic and they'll puke. BOTH the IX and the X are "radically" styled when compared to bread and butter civics, camrys, 3series, etc.

thing to remember# 4a.) people usually DON'T want to stand out of the crowd. people DON'T buy wildly styled cars unless it's "cool" to do so like the mini or beetle. the only time you want to stand out is if the car is a ferrari or bentley or any other car that will make people think you're rich/powerful, etc. the evo isn't that car for 99% of the population.

dude,

i wouldnt call a kid who just spent 25-27K on a car a poser.

i have a ix ssl and might actually consider trading it in for this puppy, since i wasnt going to pay 40K for the SST tranny, at 25-27 it becomes more attractive

you still get to keep your AYC, fender flares, and manual tranny, bigger wing if you so choose to go with the X

The RA may not have enough engine internals for easy mod.

It doesn't come with SAYC. The press release only mentions AWD with ACD.

You mis-read me. I said if some kid throws EVO BADGES on there Ralliart, then he's a poser.

that was the icing, but the main point was that the if mitsu is going to release the RA they should make it a lot different not to "dilute" the image on the X in the name of selling more cars.

all i said is that you still have quite a few features unique to the X anyhow, that point is made well here
