who else is dead even between IX & X
Hi all
I currently drive a civic si and test drove an evo IX (had headers and catback) and that thing is something i will never forget. I took it on a highway and holy **** make turns on the ramp like crazy
LOVED IT. I am def. getting an evo but not sure what to get. I don't track or go to drag strip racing just daily driving to work. I love the mean rally look on IX and the rawness of it but after looking at some pics of X at tokyo show i am in love with X. Other thing is IX is not offered new anymore and stocks are hard to find
i wish mitsu should have kept IX as a pure enthusiast model
So is there anyone else???with same 2 minds

I have test drove the 9 and thought it was OK considering my daily at the moment is 3000GT SL. I was looking to get an auto car and the X looks like the right choice but at the same time...
The EVO 9 is just sick with it, everything about it makes it the car i have wanted ever since it came out. As soon as the X MR comes out I am going to test drive it and see which one I think would be better for daily driving.

From the onset, you don't see that they talk about the IX. They did, though. Just kept it under wraps because it won.

Welp, I'm in the same situation. I'd like a IX, but you can't get those really anymore. It's also hard to find a used evo that you know it wasn't driven the **** out of it.
Wheather a IX or a X, the car is going to be a much better car than what I currently drive (also a honda), not to mention it's going to handle way better than I can drive it.... So I figured, that I may as well get the X since I'll be able to actually purchase it.

I have never owned an Evo but I have fallen in love with it. Unfortunately even with my dad's help I just can't afford it! But I am also stuck between the IX and the X! If I could go out today and pick one here is what I would look at (IE if money was not the issue)
I like the IX's body styling and the X's front. I dislike the taillights on the new Lancers but aftermarket might fix that. The IX has proven itself a solid platform for the enthusiast (which I am not) and people are uneasy to change over to the new kid on the block.
The way I look at it, if you want a more comfortable car and less of a performance machine, then the X might be for you. People with a more mod-based mind or those that race at the track can still find much to love on the 9. Unfortunately, as mentioned before, the IX is hard to find on new or "taken care-off" used. At least for a reasonable price.
At least this is true until you throw the new Ralliart into the mix. Now THAT car seems to be perfect for those stuck between the 2 Evo generations that may want to try something new.
My 2 cents are given.

supercharger is belt driven and has nothing to do with the exhuast. Superchargers are usually before the intake and the headers do not change.
IX with low miles, unhacked > X.
Availibilty of said IX = very low
Sadly if you check ebay alot of people are selling 06' IX's (hacked + mileage) for what they could have paid for them new last year from some of the dealers in the forum!
The amount of dealer gouge and avail of pristine IX will determine what I buy in february or march...

i think the evo9 will result better then the evo10
mostly because i think the 10 isnt going to respond to basic bolt-ons
thats the biggest thing people are looking for in a sports car
what more can you ask for
slap on a tbe, mbc, and a tune and go run low 12's completely reliable
go auto x and take the cake, then drive 500 miles to go home and not worry about a damn thing.

lol your a fool if u think the new engine isnt a big deal. the 4g63 is proven and has only gotten better each year. the X has already been tested on the quarter running almost 14's in the mr and 13.6's fastest time in the gsr 5 speed. so your telling me the same mods this car is going to get is going to be just as fast if not faster then a ix with the same mods? cmon kiddo. thats almost solid evidence that its not going to.

that this car is faster than others because of the header
