Evo X mod friendly?
Evo X mod friendly?
Being that the X has a smaller turbo than the IX and it's already set at 22 psi from factory, is there really any room to make more hp on the stock turbo without just blowing hot air?. At 24-25 psi the stock IX turbo is at it's limit, wouldn't the X with it's smaller turbo be at it's limit at 23-24 psi?
According to the Vivid Racing thread (they got the first Evo X and have already thrown it on the dyno), it's peak is 22psi tapering to 14psi.
It's hard to tell if it will be mod friendly or not. But, pushing 22psi stock doesn't seem like it leaves much room for an increase without going to a larger turbo. But, the stock tune seems to be very rich, so there have to be some ponies there with a simple reflash. Intake, exhaust and reflash should net good numbers even without an MBC since the stock boost is already at 22psi. Add an MBC and you'll hold boost longer, but who know how high you'll be able to turn it up. We'll see soon enough after some of the AMS, WORKS and Buschur guys get to work!
