Evo X, Canadian vs. US

Just wondering if anyone else noticed the difference between US Evo X and Canadian Evo X. Check it out, maybe you'll notice something else.
Note the rear bumper on the CAN Evo X and how there is an add-on above the diffuser. Must be one of those bumper differences made to meet the strict Canadian bumper laws.

That looks ugly! I wonder if you can remove that piece? Are the front bumpers the same? Those look like GSR's with the BBS, optional? and color matched vents also an option in Canada?

Yeah, it does look ugly, lol. You could probably take that back piece off but I would assume you would have holes in your back bumper. I'm not sure what other differences there are. In my city (Edmonton) they haven't received their EVO Xs yet but once they're here I'll be sure to go check them out in more detail.

God damn! Those bumper laws have really made a mess of that rear bumper.

They are however talking about changing those strict bumper laws to being like in US.

Yeah that would be quite refreshing but I guess its too late for this batch of Evo X's eh. Shame cause it really sticks out like a go-kart bumper there.

o2thag are you on Mitsunation.com?

Not true, Canadian prices are as follows:
(MSRP)
GSR model starts at $41,498CAN
MR model starts at $47,498CAN
MR Premium model starts at $51,498CAN

They will be higher due to dealer mark-up since Canada is only getting a small amount of Evo Xs this year. The mark up is retarted IMO, we are already paying alsmost 9K more than the GSR in US and CAN dollar is just about the same as the US dollar.

To Karan, yes I am on Mitsunation already, been posting there since an early 05 and lurking since 04

here is my favorite part, accidents / damage to the rear bumper is going to be even more expensive to replace, since that rear diffuser is going to be even more rare.

The back bumper is fairly easy to spot the difference but does anyone know if theres a difference in the front bumper?
