Go Evo X!

But damn its trap speed is so low compared to the Evo IX, but then it is holding around 200 more pounds, but damn, 100 trap speed. I think the Mazdaspeed 3 has a higher trap speed.

"I truly believe that the TC-SST may make conventional manual gearboxes, and even other semiautomatic sequential units, obsolete."

It will happen

A good read, but my crap detector is getting a reading from that article. Everything we've seen thus far indicates that the STI has a noticable advantage in a straight line, but the AYC on the X makes them very close on the road course. This test says the Evo was faster in a straight line. Methinks they don't know how to drive, or Subaru sent them a dud. In either case, it's nice to hear that the AYC makes a noticeable difference. I look forward to more real world reviews from new owners along with track experiences.

I wonder if Subaru is going to step up to the plate in the next year or so and offer up their own flavor of AYC system. If they would do that while keeping the weight low, then reduce the steering ratio, and bring Recaros to the USDM ... it would be a really kick-*** setup. I don't care a whole lot for hatches, but being able to fit a 52-inch LCD into the back does make a compelling argument for utiltity .

There does seem to be a lot of controversial review about these cars. This video has probably been seen many times and it shows that the new EVO and STI are both faster than their predecessors in the 1/4 mile.

I guess the only real way to find out is to wait for people who actually track their cars to compare.

You do realize that the test weight is with the driver and test equipment included.

according to the controversial reviews is because if you're watching the best motoring race, those cars are jdm spec. The sti is lighter than its usdm counterpart along with the ej2.0 instead of usdm 2.5. The evo x jdm is also lighter than its usdm counterpart. All in all it might be the driver, but living in the US, I'm only concern about road and track and motortrend reviews. Territorial differences, why don't know. But evo x ftw!!! Usdm.
