Just got back from seeing the X in person
Whatever you do don't go look at the new BMW 135i or especially the 335i in the same price range because the interiors are way different. IMHO, Mitsu should have done a better job considering the MSRP hovering around $40k. I am happy about the handling prowess and what the earliest reports of the X's responses are to mods though.

They just released the base price of a Lexus IS F.
If I remember correctly it's $56,975. Navi is another 1800 or so.
See I disagree.
While the X interior is not nearly as nice as a BMW, you get better performance with the EVO.
If you get the 335xi (all wheel) it becomes substantially more and to be honest the outside of the car is boring and so very old already. The 135i is really sexy, however two doors is a turn off and not practical plus again, its RWD. I would buy a new Camaro or Mustang convertible if I wanted 300 plus horses and RWD. You can't justify buying a real wheel drive car unless you live in a warm climate or you have two cars. Being from NJ and living through these winters, I put a premium on all wheel drive. So I'll sacrifice the preppy int and go with the better performance car. (all year round)
-From what I see a BMW 335XI starts at 40,800 with no options & BMW 135I starts at 34,900 *stripped down Basically both cars are more dough when you tack on some goodies. So for me, the Evo is a better buy.

yes the taillights for the X look like an IS
and i dont think the X is overpriced, it bases about $500 more than a 9 gsr, and other than the CF wing,it has more stuff (cruise, ayc, among other things). people just like to see fully loaded examples like the aero pkg, the navi, the SSS, and see ~$40k, then yes its expensive but factory navi options these days cost about $2000
Lexus, Infiniti and BMW all have cars that can go as fast in a straight line as the Evo. The question becomes this, is the interior quality made up for by the Evo's far superior handling? Does the AWD system make up for the interior quality given that the competition is RWD until you get over $40K?
To many the answer will be yes.
