16/22 Mpg does it bother you?
I get about 15 city and 23 HWY in my MDX, but on my R1, I get 36 city and 41 HWY. The EVO is not going to get you great mileage, if you were worried about that you would have spent the $38000 on a Prius. You can always get a bike like I did, you are much faster then MOST cars on the road, great gas consumption, I made 171.0 on a DynoJet and run a 10.31 in 1/4.

22mpg for a 2.0L is terrible. I get ~26 hwy mpg on my VIII. I'm sure either car could benefit from a taller cruise (5th) gear. Some reference points for HWY gas mileage:
- 2.0L 2003 Evo VIII gets 26 mpg (it gets about 4 mpg @ the track)
- 2.5L 2008 Forester XT gets 21 mpg
- 3.2L 2008 R32 gets about 23 mpg
- 4.2L 1997 A8 got 23 mpg
- 3.5L 1988 735i got 22 mpg
- 1.6L 1989 Geo Prizm got 31 mpg

2008 Acura RDX (2.3L turbo I-4): 16/22 - same as the Evo except heavier and larger frontal area. I don't think anyone expects great numbers from a performance car but at least matching cars like the 335i, G35, or CTS, which are all in the same price and horsepower range but much heavier, could be expected.
I think one of the previous posters is right: Mitsubishi needs to give up on the rally spec and put in a bigger, higher-compression 4cyl engine with lower boost. We'd see more power AND economy that way.

that will be awesome
I would rock that!
