X`s options in Canada (GSR)
So, i did some calling around at some dealerships in canada and all the salesmen are telling me that there is no SSS/Aero/Nav packages for the GSR, and the only way to get what those packages have would be to just get the MR/MR Premium. I swear i`ve seen plenty GSR`s with the SSS or aero or nav packages (just not in canada mind you). Are all Canadians getting screwed with their packages (not to mention us getting screwed on the rear of the evo x with that chunk of plastic that looks like it came off of a chev avalanche) or are the few dealerships i`ve talked to ****ing with me?
Any input would be valuable, atleast more valuable then salesmens input.

That's what I heard from the sales people too... no options available for the GSR at all. I guess we can all cross our fingers and hope that changes during the Toronto Auto Show. But I doubt it...

all of a sudden im having second thoughts on the GSR
. I could buy the spoiler/hids, but what about the aero kit? How different is the aero stuff(couldn`t find a complete list of what the aero/sss packages include)? is it just a small piece or is it replacing the whole front bumper. maybe ill just stick with the GSR and replace all the stuff manually to replicate the 3 packages. I wonder how much it would be to buy all the parts seperate from the dealership?
Also does anyone have any insight on removing that big chunk of plastic on the rear bumper? i think its the same as the US bumper but they added a chunk of plastic, or am i wrong and its all the same piece? if they are seperate im sure theres holes behind it or something, but iw ouldnt mind getting those filled

Pretty sure the aero will fit, the car looks exactly the same except for the plastic part on the rear bumper
and yeah no option, don'T even know if there will be the interior package (shift knob and brake handle)
And yeah in canada we're totally screwed, don't forget the MSRP (compared to the US one)

I've been looking closely at that rear bumper. I don't think its merely a piece thats been added on. I think the lower piece where it meets w the upper piece is shaped differently which means that removing the upper piece will not make it appear the same as a U.S. spec car.
On the U.S. spec car, the lower piece angles upwards along the top edge. On the Canadian vehicle, the joint between the upper and lower pieces appears to be angled either parallel to the ground or downwards which leads me to believe that the lower piece is different from the U.S. spec. If so, removing the upper piece and filling whatever holes are behind it, won't be the end of the issue. It will leave the lower piece which if it is shaped differently along its top edge, will look incomplete. Which would lead to purchasing a new lower piece from a U.S. dealer and shipping it up here to replace it. or possibly remove all of it and simply have it look like a regular Lancer bumper..

No way. look at the U.S. spec. There is only a couple inches of plastic above the exhaust tip. Then look at the Cdn spec. Theres got to be 4-5 inches of plastic over the exhaust tip.
Now look at the corner of the Cdn spec bumper where the two pieces join. Clearly the joint is angled downward. Whereas the U.S. piece is bevelled upward along its top edge.

Looks like ill just pick and choose the **** i want from the Aero/sss packages. And the first thing im doing is taking that rear bumper off and seeing what the **** is the deal with it, and if there needs to be some hacking of the bumper ill be buying a US one anyway.
Ill keep you guys informed, i should figure this out with in a week.
