For those who reserved an MR

Has your dealership given you any real information on arrival? The word was the end of May, but now I am hearing September. I'm not looking for speculation or rumors and I figure that anyone who has put money down on an MR has probably hounded the dealership for good info. Trying to figure out how long a wait I would have if I sold my IX now while the mileage is low and the interest in the IX's is still high. I would have to buy a beater to run around in until the MR's make it here.

Thanks

Every dealer in florida has no idea about anything. We dont even have the GSR yet and the local dealers here swore to me up and down that the X's arent out yet. I had to inform them that they are out on the west coast. I do have a deposit on an MR, and the wait is killing me..

I have talked to Sam at South Coast & put a deposit down. He said April for sure, the last time I talked to him. I also asked about it being here sometime in March, since a lot of people in these forums were mentioning that. He said that it is certainly possibly, but as of that date (about Feb 5), he hasn't heard anything about it being here in March. I also called MMNA & they did say March (I asked what part of the month & they said the end to be safe).

Did either Sam at South Coast or the Rep. at MMNA have any comments concerning the rumors of a late release for the MR? What contact number did you use for MMNA? I checked out the website and did not readily see a consumer contact link.

Thanks

I haven't talked to Sam about those rumors. He did comment about it in another forum & said:
"I just got off the line from someone at MMNA and this is not true. The cars are still coming. I will double check my findings"

"The President of our company just called Mitsubishi Motors and confirmed that the statement that was released on the internet has not been released from Mitsubishi Motors and that the person who posted doesnt work for Mitsubishi Motors. Also we confirmed that the evo is still on the same schedule as before. If their are any changes we will be the first to know. I will keep you posted. This is just a bad rumor."

"We already ordered our cars. We had no issuses and we have no issues. MR is still coming."

The MMNA phone number is under the "Contact" section (located at the top of the mitsubishicars.com home page). I called the # under NEED INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR MITSUBISHI VEHICLE?
^MMNA told me late March. I didn't ask about rumors.

Thanks for the info. I might reserve an MR if they are still on schedule.

Just do it! It's refundable & they only ask for $500 (at least South Coast does). Dealers locally to me asked for $3,000 (Big Thumbs Down). I hope you have better luck, if you're staying local.

I went ahead and called MMNA and was told that the vehicle was still on schedule for the end of May. She said that a release as a 2009 model is just a rumor. Not sure how up-to-date they keep the phone reps. at MMNA but, I guess, time will tell.

^ Yeah, always diff info. When I called back in Sept to ask about GSR release, the person told me Nov. I'm not sure if anyone really knows. I'm just waiting & hoping.

^ Yes. It's illegal for them not to be. I was also reassured by Sam about this.

If it wasn't refundable I wouldn't have done it. No one's sure about pricing, so what if it ended up being some ridiculous price, like $45,000 (God forbid). I would not pay for that. I'm hoping for around $37,000, which the $500 would go toward.

My local dealer said something about them having to ship all the MR's back to Japan to fix a clutch issue. He said he did not know when they would be arriving. Take it for what its worth, this is all I know about the subject.

I called MMNA again, to see about the May estimate. The lady told me end of March, early April.
