SSL package

 

oh i get it. this topic is about evo X. opps..my bad. but no mine only has sunroof, no leather, no infinity sound system.

 

03 VIII's had sunroofs as an option by itself. Then the SSL pkg was created with it.

 

Considering the sunroof for the X is an option on JDM units and the Lancer RA is going to have it as an option here in the US, i find it confusing they didn't offer it on the US X's.

 

Sunroofs suck on a sports car (more weight in the worst place, chance for leaks and rattles and motor/drive failures and they reduce headroom)!

 

Other than weight, i'm glad i didn't have any of those chanced problems on my 03 VIII. It was in use quite often and i was able to drive with a full face helmet on while the sunroof was closed without hitting. And i stand in at 6'3".

 

I went to the DEALER yesterday. I was blown away by the 38700 price tag. For a GSR with aero, sight and sound package. Its a much bigger car than the older one. I will be purchasing a new toy in the coming months. It's going to be between a E55 or the New X. I am going to wait and see. I really want a sunroof.

This is somewhat upsetting. Having previously enjoyed my VIII and its sunroof, I am considering replacing the 997S with a X but a sunroof is almost a necessity to me.

 

According to the official Evolution X brochure, a sunroof will be available. The cars with it will have a steel roof.

My #1 recommendation: Never, EVER install an after market sunroof. They always leak, rattle, and eventually break.

 

ay men. Had one on my escort back in high school/college. Mine rattled after the first year, not just the sunroof but the headliner plastic peices as well. It started leaking during my senior year of college, but only on the highway when it was downpouring, sitting stationary it was fine. When i first got it, it was done by a company that only does auto sunroofs in my region. It was a very professional job.

Sunroof is only available on the MR, which isn't out in the U.S. yet. We currently only have GSR's. If you do get a sunroof, make sure it's factory!
