remember back in 2003?

I'm seeing a lot of posts from people complaining about the dealer markup on the X

now I gotta remember that we're dealing with evo noobs or just forgetful people...

remember when the viii first came out? and someone posted that ridiculous sticker for 52k or something like that??

all these dealers asking for 40k and up will be lowering their price in a few months of slow sales, n will have a load of evo's on the lot which they will be happy to sell at msrp or lower! give it about 6 months.

give the rich men or parents with 10k to burn their time to happily post their pix n just drool to now. remember in a new production model/year there will be bugs n other little kinks mitsu n new owners will have to hash out.

if ur patient enough to wait for the next yr you'll be even better!

just my .02 cents to other X dreamers like me

thats true waiting is better saving up for a generous down payment while taking care of other things for the time being... its easier to wait now considering what can be ironed out in terms of fixes that could make the car much better

Never pay mark-up! when was the last time a dealer paid you mark-up for your Trade?

^+1 Ignore the mark-up and laugh at any dealers who try to charge it.

Agreed. It's always better to wait for the hysteria to die down on any limited-production. You'll be rewarded with several thousand dollars left in your piggybank!

There are two flaws in this logic:
1 - You dont have to pay mark up. Just negotiate it out
2 - You will always be waiting for the next best thing

PDX, you won't be able to talk dealers out of the markup right now, especially when there are people willing to pay it!

there is flaw in your logic

How many times does it have to be said? Buy from South Coast, pay invoice+100, and even with the cost of having it shipped to your doorstep it will be well under MSRP.

I remember when the VIII first came out I went to a stealership to check it out and they had a $12,000 markup on the sucker. It was ridiculous. When I called them on it they said "We'd knock it down a little for a guy like you (I had come in my tuned WRX), that's just for people coming in off the street who want to buy now."
