Hate the pedals, they're too far apart. Don't want to put on generic pedals, so anybody know of any vendors selling them? Yes, I searched!
www.srpracing.com has pedals made just for your car.
The VIII brake and accelerator pedals seemed to be closer together and the Mitsubishi aftermarket pedals made it perfect.
I always like to add different pedals for track use. The brake and throttle pedal are spaced too far apart to confortably heel and toe. The last Evo 8 I had I found a pair of Ralliart pedals that had an adhesive backing and curvature to match the base pedal perfectly. This made it easy to install a little off center (closer to the throttle) for easier reach. It was also very easy to install and had a nice sandpaper like topside.
These same pedals would probably work on the X but I've been calling around trying to find some with no success.

Most of the people I have known over the years always make modifications to the pedal positions of production cars to better accomodate "heel and toe". Some of the Porsche guys have to add a block to the throttle that does 2 things; extends the throttle to the left to get it closer to the brake and raise it away from the floor so under hard braking the brake and throttle are at relatively the same height from the floor so the foot can control both without too much offset.
In the four Evo's that I've owned and tracked since 2003, I've always had to offset the brake to the right in order to comfortably reach the throttle for downshifts ( wear 11.5 shoe so I don't have a small foot).
It's really a matter of personal preference but while pushing hard on the track everything needs to be very ergo.

I ordered the pedals from SRP and have my fingers crossed that they'll fix my problem.
