Mitsu Canada has said there will be a 'delay' in the MR's. They didn't say if they were going to be called '09's, but they won't be produced in Japan until May/June, and apparatnly it takes ~90 days for them to get to the show room after production, so that's putting them late summer. I doubt they'll release a current model year car in September. Just as well to call it an '09 at that point.

They (Mitsu Canada) confirmed 'issues' with the transmission, but wouldn't/couldn't say any more detailed information than that.

I'm not saying what the 1-800 Mitsu # says is gospel, I'm just repeating what they told me. Take it for what it's worth, but don't diss the messenger.

But I guess they were only delayed 2 months then... Cool

^ That's def true. Also, I don't know about you guys, but when I was asking about the release date for the X GSR back in Sept, dealers here told me November. Absolutely ludicrous. No one expected the GSRs to be popping up in the first half of Jan, I kept hearing Feb, in Dec. So, we will all have to wait in see. I'm sure if any dealer has correct info, or at least close to correct info, it's South Coast. They're the first to get any in the US. It's just a guessing game. No one should freak out, until there is an official press release from Mitsu, either on their corporate site or on their car division's site.

I put a $2000 deposit on Saturday for the MR. My dealers computer shows March 28th receiving 4 MRs. My salesman had the Gen. Sales Manger check it out and they showed it to me in the computer with the arrival date.

^ That's a hefty deposit. Is that the required amount? I only had to put down $500, but local dealer wanted $3,000. Do you know what colors they're getting, possibly pricing?

White and Black, I am going for the white. They asked for a 2000.00 deposit. Pricing would be "around 40K" but my salesman said around 38K if you hammer them. He said there would be a markup but I told him I would not pay it since there are some dealers that are selling them without the markup. Also if anyone in Vegas is going to buy one go see my friend Layton he works at Peoples Mitsubishi in NW Vegas. They have a few GSRs on the lot, two grey, one silver, two blue, the red and a white.

I spoke to a sales guy today, said the MR's were EATING their clutches up and they had to figure it out still.

This is one of the reasons i would be very skeptical to invest in new technology like this. If they are experiencing issues off the shelf i wonder what sort of longevity they are going to get from the tranny. And i would be VERY scared of beating on such an expensive part that wont be warrantied if deemed "abusive driving"

My sentiments exactly. The IX MR 6-spd tranny had known issues as well... they just can't seem to give their top-end model the TLC it deserves!
