So you're hanging around here on the X forum to rip on it and say how much it sucks? Smells like a hater to me.

If I were you, yes I would definitely trade in a Talon and Civic for the Evo X

1st off You know nothing about how much power the new block would hold. No one knows. you never worked on one so how would you know?

99% of all 4g63 never see over 500 HP
99% of all EVO-X will never see anything over 500 hp
didnt design the new block just for the 1% of those guys.
so maybe you should stfu

I'd say it really boils down to this. Alot of IX owners and before are really pissed including myself about the direction Mitsubishi took with the X. I got into the game because the IX looked so unique, different from any other car. I was hoping the Evolution would do just that, Evolve into something much sicker than the IX. To that degree it failed miserably imo. I liked how they made small incremental changes through the years and the body style change between the VI and the VII was still true to form. Driving down the road, I cant tell difference between the base lancer and the evolution X and that sucks, and seeing one on the road I already assume its just a base lancer. To me its lost its unique look and individual characteristics. I always get stoked when I see a IX, VIII, and even sti's. Not so with the X. Just appears like everything else.

any dealers wont give you 29k for your car, theyre still alot of evo9 mrs thats for sale under 30K, and theyre probably ended up selling your car for 29-30K.

i'm defenietly not sure about hes % number though, specially when you will go down the most realistic 400-500 whp... We know the the 4G63T running on strong with those numbers, also dont forget those talons and eclipses rocking on 4G63T too...

but he got the point there, for dd and for mild tune the X is a better car.
So the for the most guys will be fine. Only thing is, the evo survived from 1-9 on the hardcore fans not on the DD ones... If you know what i mean. So for the hardcore guys also dont give a damn, what you say. Specially, because the DD type coming and goes usually...

That's cool. also somewhat of the risk factor for wanting to sell more of their icon vs. targeting only a hardcore audiance.

I have yet to see a X on the street. In fact there's only one IX in my county, so things catch on pretty slow in these parts.....

ok, i am a bit confused by the title after reading your rant. It seems that you spent 90% of writing describing your crappy experience at the dealer, so maybe you should revise your title a bit (if you could)

otherwise, 1 paragraph review of the X is nothing more than a subjective opinion. who gives a shijajt about a plastic wing, (it has aluminium frame underneath it if it makes you feel better), or the tail-lights, and yes the car is about 300lbs heavier so that extra 6 ponnies will not make up for that in acceleration, although interior feel, seat, and other things, can be deceiving when it comes to using a butt dyno in judging how fast the car accelarates (i am not saying here that the X is faster than IX in straight line, its NOT actually)

You spoke nothing about handling which is where the X is supposed to clearily outshine the previous versions, did you forget to notice that, or was it also crap?

So last thursday after being called million times to come and check out the Evo X I finally get some time after work to go. I get there and the salesman that harrased me for a week is flippin MIA WTF. Anyways I made it over to Coconut Creek Mitsubishi tonight after being called a million more times by them to come and check out the Evo X.

My first visit when the guy wasnt there I really liked the look (in person) of the X so I was dying to drive it. So I got there tonight and met the guy and he brings me up to the garage to see all the X's they have. (Side note: if you are looking for a X they have ALOT of them they are going to be getting 30 this year and have about 10-12 in stock right now in every color)

So we got in the Wicked White X, and take it for a spin and right off the bat I am completely not impressed with it. Where is the spool up???? I dont feel the turbo what-so-ever! It just has a slow pull all the way through and even at that its not quick at all. Dont get me wrong I like the inside which is a HUGE step up from the current IX, I like the outside but still not crazy about the rear tails (Lexus 350 much...). And WTF is up with the PLASTIC wing???!!! That is completely ridiculous for a $35K+ car! The trans flatout feels like crap and instead if the typical notchy feel it almost feels like it is completely not going in gear and that the shifter is going to break off.

Bottom line is my IX in pure stock form would spank the living crap out of this thing!

So anyway here is the funny $hit they try to pull with me tonight. They ask me how much I am looking for to trade my IX and get in the X, I tell them $29K, and they say "well we couldnt even sell if for that much so we will give you $23K tops", (Laughing to myself begins), then they proceed to tell me that they dont keep IX's as trade-ins since they dont have anywhere to park them, (More BS since they have a 3 level parking garage), and since they cant park the car anywhere all the parts will be stolen or the whole car will be stolen.

Next they say "well do you like the car, what are you thinking of doing", I told them that it is ridiculously slow and that was a huge deciding factor for me since there are other things I dont like about it. I think this was almost the funniest thing they said> The GM says "well the mechanics said that the car isnt set to full horse power right now, if you were to buy the car and break it in and bring it back when you hit 1K miles they will do a reset on it which will unleash ALOT more horsepower" I laughed a little bit at them from all the BS that they were trying to feed me and just played it off since I was texting someone in my phone while he was talking. ..

Then they say that since they dont keep the IX's that they are going to just wholesale my car if I decide to trade it in, I almost died laughing at them. I said "You mean to tell me that your going to give me $25K then turn around and put a $31K retail on a IX MR and rather then try to sell it, wholesale it out and take less than $23K!?, when you guys are ready to be serious call me and talk numbers not BS"

Get real Coconut Creek Mitsubishi, these guys are the biggest jokesters I have EVERY dealt with while looking at a new car.

I hope you found this as entertaining as I did, the IX is here to stay unless I drive one with the "unleashed" extra horsepower that changes my mind.

Elise the perfect example what i'm saying in the states . They don't looking for more cup holders or cruise control on the steering wheel. And they did just fine with the Exige....
The Lancer RA is the car for those who wants "luxury". I'm still not convinced yet, about the new "stream" on the evo. The Evo i still think should be pure and raw. Specially when the RA will come out. I hope they will fix that with the RS model

So you're saying that a stock X felt slower than your modded IX?

I'm flabbergasted...

The handling was nothing that really took me back...

This thread went to crap real quick, and to those who have mentioned it that it is an opinionated thread, your right so there is no need for everyone to bicker back and forth. My main purpose of the thread was to say in short, I dont like it, the dealer was a complete moron trying to tell me things that are not true and that they "wont turn around and sell my IX for a ton more than what they are willing to give me" and thats it.

^ Why do you think the thread went to crap, you came to the EVO X section and bashed on the car. I am going to come to the EVO 1-9 section and talk about how much better the X is then previous and how the the EVO 1-9 sucked compared to the X and see what happens.

(Disclaimer, I love the EVO 1-9 and have owned a 2003 EVO 8 till present)
