Agreed as I indicated; just trying to give a bone to Amby so he would feel a little better.

Also, true but the X used at the beginining of the show was the FQ-300 relative to a bone stock STI. So this is the reason Jeremy was so high on the X. However, the car driven by the Stig was bone stock X.

Earlier they tested the FQ-360 but for the timed laps he said they used the 300hp version.
Which they referred to as stock AND is this the same as our 291hp X stock OEM vehicle? I am confused here as to the differences for they suggested that the Stig tested car was a showroom car i.e., "stock"

Everyone seems to be spending their time on minutiae and not addressing the topic at hand. I don't even know what this thread is about anymore.

Isn't that the death of every thread?

Evo X - good motor, moderate transmission
Sti 2.5 - bad motor, good transmission
Sti 2.0 - moderate motor, good transmission

I think that's all ...

Isn't the 2.0 STi forged internals? I'd put that slightly above moderate motor as the JDM Spec-C's have redlines at 9k or something. Spinning normally to 9k, stick a big turbo on there and you're off

I wouldn't classify the EJ207 as a "moderate motor" either. Yes, it does have forged internals to my knowledge.

EJ207 has cast pistons, but they are stronger than EJ257 pistons. Redline is at 8k.
Also EJ207 Heads >>> EJ257 Heads.

Anyway ... if you are interested in subies engines, there's very good report made by Tomei.
