Still for performance, Evo wins every time...

Tommi doesnt look 2 bad in it.

STIs are nice but I can't be moved from my Evo, although I am considering getting a Lexus CT200h for a DD.

^Those kinds of tests are always hit or miss. You can make all sorts of differences setting up cars perfectly with professional drivers in them and sometimes better tires.

I bet it would be a bit different taking one of the dealer lot and testing it I never trust those tests, they could've dropped in a good tune too.

Styling wise the STI is just trying way too hard. Its pretty clear that given how ridiculous the base model Impreza looks they just don't have much to work with.

They have resorted to fake ducts and pointless lines just to make it look aggressive. That wing is really out of place and the diffusor just plain sucks.

Looks like a heavily modded corolla, with a miniature size 2000 mustang taillight.

That is a spec C as well. Compare it to the FQ360 then.

No it's not a spec-c. There isn't even a 2011 spec-c available yet.

It says the engine is from the spec-c, but what car and driver should have said is that the car has the jdm 2 liter engine which is only in jdm stis not just the spec-c which they lead you to believe.

I will say that the car does have a few spec-c parts but it isn't an all out C model. But I would lean towards the car being mostly a stock jdm sti.

I'm not really sweating it though. I think a middle FQ model would eat that time with some left over for desert.

Maybe you should read your own link...

From article:
The stickler is that the Subaru in question wasn’t a production car. It was, in the words of the company, a 2011 Impreza WRX STI prototype. The car is basically the bastard child of two JDM-only models with some extra bespoke aero bits thrown in for slipperiness and high-speed stability.

The car starts with the suspension from the improved-for-2011 WRX STI—it’s 5 mm lower than the 2010 model, with 1-mm-thicker front and rear anti-roll bars, higher-rate springs all around, stiffer rear-subframe bushings, and new front-suspension pillow-ball bushings. The engine is the Japanese-market STI spec.c’s, a 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer-four that’s been given the larger turbo from the R205, another Japanese special-edition STI model. It’s now putting out a claimed 320 hp,

Yes, I know what it says. My point is that those are all parts from jdm production stis, none of which are performance monsters like an fq400. They mention the spec-c but that's car&driver saying that to hype up the components. The 2 liter engine is a stock jdm unit, with the bigger turbo from another jdm stock car. The r205 isn't a performance powerhouse.

But I guess if we're being technical, then yes you're right. It isn't a "stock" sti.

I said it was a spec C and a prototype, per the article. I never said anything about the fq400, I said 360, the middle version
