if you remove the plastic piece under the brake pedal it uncovers the steering rod, go through there and you will be right below the intake/turbo. The plastic piece is easy to remove just one plastic flat head screw holding it on.

I see that, but I don't want to drill my car. There was a grommet you could pop out in the CT9A cars. Is there not one in the X?

I read somewhere to try and go through the steering column and removed the plastic piece to run them through.

I installed a boost gauge on a X last week. You can run it through the passenger side just like on the 8's and 9's. The only problem is there is an extra layer of "carpet" (sound deadening board?) on the firewall. At first I thought I was going to be able to run the hose under it, but it is very stiff and fastened to the firewall, I'm sure if I had more time (we were rushing to get to the track) I could have made that work.

But once you pop the grommet out from under the hood, push on the board through the hole and have a friend feel where you are pushing from inside and mark it. I used a razor and cut a small x on the board. Then just run it through the hole and through the board. BTW, the area under the hood is very tight, you might want to find a skinny friend to assist you.

If you're against cutting up the board, I would say try to maneuver it out of the way to run it behind it. But getting back there is very tight as with under the hood.

Good luck.

Thanks Kerr. I would love to see pics of exactly where it is on the engine side.

I couldn't find easy access to any grommet, so I just drilled a hole in the firewall behind the steering column cover. Its really easy to do, and is out of the way.
