Paint - Price help

So I went to the local body shop and told them my paint story with the Evo X.

He told me;
"We'll take the rocker panel and this rear panel(where my chips are), sand the area down and paint it. Than clear coat the entire panel so it matches the car. I won't do spot patches, its not the correct way of doing things. Things never end up looking good later down the road."

I need my driver side rear 1/4 panel, pass 1/4 pannel and rocker pannel. Along with the paint I am having a HUGE patch of 3m tape applied. To protect against further rocks. I rather have a tape edge than chips.

I was told about $500, he'll have it done Monday if I drop it of Friday. (It's suppose to rain all weekend here.) I don't know if that includes the 3m tape. Let's say it doesn't. The 3m tape, I was qouted $20/sq.ft, would cost roughly $200 on top of the $500. So it adds up quick.

I'm going after work to work out the details and hopefuly get a more accurate price. But for the time being..

My question is that a fair price?$700. I really have no idea about body work. All I know is that prep is very important. lol.

Mud Flaps would be great and are on my List. This needs to get fixed first so it doesn't rust.

Oh I also called my insurance company to see if they would cover it....Nope..

Touch up paint and then 3m. No sense in repainting the whole area, it will be difficult to match that color anyway.

I just called Freehold Mitshubishi and ordered some touch-up paint. What's nice is that it's free. I was not expecting that. So I suggest that everyone call up and order a little bottle. Even if you don't use it, it's good to have and is FREE! lol.
If you call have your VIN or paint code handy. I do not know the codes.

With that said; It looks like it will just be the 3m tape.
