Thanks for the nice words! We know that we did get to certain cutsomers, and i am glad you were happy with us and our parts. But we really want to get deeper into the EVO market and with the car completely changing for 08, this is a great time!

Well, i was saving some of the picky things for the EVO vs STI shootout. But the only things i didn't like are the shifter (not anywhere near the quality of the STI, and the finish of the trunk. These things are both not up to par. BUt i have been reading that others are having shifting issues, and it might be a trip to the dealer. The main things like power, steering, suspension, brakes are all great!

Wow! Neat thread guys!

I'm intrigued at how Mitsu used both a MAP and MAF sensor though...not sure what that adds in terms of driveability, performance, etc. when compared to just going with the MAP.

+1 on the shifting experience too. Coming from an '05 STi, I am ready to get an X like right now. However, both test drives shocked me with the shifting/transmission of the X GSR . It's freaking awful! Awful to the point I might not get the car! I mean, this is VERY important as it's how you drive the vehicle. It's not like a crappy looking interior or a bad radio or something. Very disappointed. I absolutely loved my STi's tranny/clutch and knew the Evo's wasn't as good, but no idea it was this bad. I test drove 2 different X's just to rule out the car itself. I don't know what to do - I'm stuck. Unbelievable on a darn near $40K car.

Excellent write up as usual. Just curious, what are some of the things other than the standard I/E are you guys thinking of doing?

Dude, its not that bad, EVO owners have had some notchy shifting since it hit US shores. 99% is not a problem , a few slightly more notchy and different fluid in the tranny helped. if you think this car has a transmission problem point it out to the dealer and have him get you another car. the cars shifts like butter, only slight notch when its cold, gone in 5 min of driving and speed shift with no problems. i understand it may not be as sweet as the STI , but you make it sound like its broken. I think your ranting over the Top. go drive a porsche or ferrari . these have very hard gated shifters and they cost 2-3 x what an EVO cost.
