Its stayed the same, which is to say it has been continuously bad. Even at redline, upshifting to second is really notchy in my car. I still would not call it a full grind, but its a pain.

So I'm ok here, yea its not a full grind but it does get annoying trying to drive the car while your constantly thinking about how to shift to 2nd with out it being so notchy. This is the only drawback for the evo x...Other then that I love this car.
I'm still going to have the dealer to check this out so that they'll have a record of this problem, just in case some things gives because of this problem.

This is weird. Am I the only one here that absolutely loves the transmission? The gearing is a bit short ill admit but other than that it shifts smooth as butter imo. Compared to my MR and even my 330i this trans is by far my favorite. No grinds what so ever. Hmmm

Did you put the bg synchroshift II in your X? Was the notchiness completely gone?

What did you buy your evo for? If your not street racing or road coursing? I certainly hope not just looks for $40,000 what a waste of money and car. btw evo X trannys are worse to date. Adding mods will prove to be a disaster.

Weird, I never change my oil because the car broke in.

I'm with you!! I went from 2 mustangs that had HEAVY clutch pedals. The Cobra clutch was so heavy I did not put it in gear at a stop light until the light changed. In heavy traffic, forget it (can you say dead leg)!! The stock shifter was crap (and that's being nice). So, the first thing I did in both cars was get an aftermarket shifter.

I get in the evo x and I love the clutch and the shifter. I have no problems with the clutch being heavy and I DO NOT have the notchy problem a lot of people talk about. I don't know, I just don't see a problem with this tranny. Maybe I am another one of the lucky ones, but I will take this tranny over any 'stangs any day!!

On a side note, I have a little over 1200 miles in 3 weeks - love driving the car

how the hell is the X tranny the worst to date???? this thing LOVES to be pounded on and unlike the older cars it goes into gear at 7K rpm. it is only rough at low speeds and slow shifts. hell i even had a shep trans in my 05 and that thing WOULD NOT shift at 7k rpm. i'll take that trade off any day.
