Rotora - Looking To Test Fit Big Brake Kit On Evo X

My name is Todd and I am the Senior Sales Manager at ROTORA.

We are currently looking for an Evo X to do a test fitment for a Front and Rear Big Brake Kit. We are planning on making either a 6 Piston 355x32 or 8 Piston 380x34 for the Front and a 4 Piston 355x32 for the Rear.

If you can help us out that would be amazing. We will offer you the full kit at an extremely discounted price plus you will be the first Evo X with it before it hits the market.

Please send me an email at tcutter@rotora.com or call me at (909) 590.1712 ext 104

If you are local in Southern California and would like to help us out.

We are located at:

13517 Benson Ave.
Chino, Ca 91710

Thanks,

Todd Cutter

More R&D is needed to figure out how extra stopping power would mess with the SAWC.

more research needs to be done...

I would definitely hold off on BBK for EVO, I've used some project mu pads for track, and it does interfere with the awd system. Maybe some street pads will be ok, but with full track pads, it's too aggresive and locks up the rears when the SAWC brakes one side.

Also, when choosing a BBK for your car, I would look at the replacement parts costs such as rotors and pads. I have 6 piston and 4 piston Rotora BBK on my350z, the pads alone cost more than $600, and $1,500 for rotors. $2,100!!!! Plus, it has pretty ridiculous pad knockback. I have Stoptech 6 piston front kit for EVO IX, and pads and rotors were less than half the cost of Rotoras.

That is pretty scary... Lots of people track their Evos and not being able to run track pads is not good at all. Is there any solutions to this?

I've actually ran 15 laps at Streets of Willow, surprisingly, the stock pads held up pretty well. So don't be so discouraged. I think SWAC only controls the rear brakes, so you should be able to upgrade the front brake system. And since car is front heavy, it should workout.

Way cool.

Do you have some pics of your car and the new brakes that you could share?

Did Rotora give you an ETA for the BBK?
