Possible EvoX owner..
Quality and cover up is like apples and oranges. If I wouldnt want cruise control in my race car....I never understood the whole leater seats and cruise control deal in an Evo or Sti....if you care so much on that why not just get an M3
dvd player should be in SUV or other show/slow vehicles. (Like the Evo X =D)
BTW the RS was made for its weight, even tho a lot of broke fools got in on it because its was cheap but if i could turn back time I would have gonna a 06 Evo 9 RS. There isnt any wrong with roll down windows if thats what you are looking for in a RACE CAR

8/9 evo looked as though they were slapped together, the X is a much more put together car! It looks twice as aggressive, and the whole boy racer theme is no longer. Shift boot means nothing to me, but the carbon fiber wing on the 8/9 was very nice... Something the X really lacks. Overall I could nit pick all 3 cars on quality, but to each their own.

I think 8/9 wing looks too ricey.

I went to the dealer ship 3 days ago. this is what the sales manager told me. "If you bring in your evo ix here to trade in for the new X. people will laugh at you, you can make alot of money on that car, dont bring it".
also
"If i was you, i wouldnt sell your evo ix, its a collectors item, instead of the value going down its going to go up in the years, just keep the miles right, and dont drive it to much. thats the last model for the evo ix. if anything, pay off the evo ix, an then buy a evo x if you have the money. so you can have a collectors item, and the new evo x. But dont trade it in or sell it.".
BLAH
EVO X OWNED!! BY SALES MANAGER!

We know a thing or two or three or four about BMWs and tuning for performance. Allow me to be your friend right now and strongly suggest you not go down the DINAN road. It's not that the parts are bad but rather that you are paying twice for parts that don't deliver as well as others much much cheaper. In the world of serious BMW enthusiasts, DINAN is considered poseur material. Anyway, the 135 is not a rebirth of the 2002 - it weighs over 3400 pounds; for God's sake buy a used E46M3 and do better, cheaper. If you want to properly tune the BMW please drop us a PM and we'll be glad to make it more civil on the street and killer on the track simultaneously. Enough of that though.
Don't diss power windows and so on for performance autos; Porsche has found that new generation power windows are lighter than reverting to manual cranks as well as other areas one might not consider as performance - electric defroster&c - are used on all out race cars.
Be that as it may, the reason for me going with the Nav Screen is not for nav nor DVD but a useful place to display vehicle alarms using a CAMP2 or similar. Further, the actual unit is only @2 pounds - my understanding is the vast majority of the weight is in the Sub which will immediately be removed. Can she lose weight; you bet and mine will - probably @180 or so. But arguments such as IX belts being made by Takata don't impress me - I sell Schroth so I know what a good belt is. As to leather seats, I wish I could get cloth! Finally who gives a rat's a$$ if the shift boot is suede or nauga or a pair of used panties - real performance guys would get rid of either!
I guess it just concerns me that you diss the Mitsu getting luxurious and fat then praise BMW which has well and truely comprehensively lost their way accross their entire range.

can you post a video that says the x go's around a track faster then a ix cause the only one i seen says the ix was faster? guess it depends on the track
The Stock X is quicker than any pervious stock EVO around the track! It's about 2 tenths of a second slower than the 9, I've seen the 9 hit 0-60 in 4.4 and the X 0-60 in 4.6. The X is way more aggressive, the shark like fascia looks as though it's going to devour on coming traffic, the squinted head lamps and high belt line reminds me of an Alfa. The carbon fiber wing is much more durable than plastic, carbon fibers is found on many top end cars as well as the stealth bomber and Parker Fly guitars!
I would prefer the X to have Carbon fenders and roof, it's twice as light and as strong as steel! In my eyes the boy racer theme is gone and as far as the carbon fiber wing looking rice, what's wrong with that? I can't believe someone mentioned rice and their on a Mitsu message board??? Just my opinion guys, not taking any stabs here.

Yeah I do realize they use aluminum for the fenders and roof, carbon fiber is nearly unbreakable therefore relieving my worries of dents, hail damage and road debris. You would also see a decrease in weight not to mention a increase in quality! I pretty much know an X like the back of my hand, I've done hours of research due to the fact I'm going to purchase one on the week of April 14th thru the 20th (GOD WILLING)!!!
There's somethings I like better about the previous Evo's, but the X calls my name (unlike the other Evo's had)! To each there own though, I have no real plans on modifying the X rather than an ECU flash, exhaust and intake. The X seems more refined and more of a road going rally car than the much more violent 8/9 road going rally rockets.
The X is an exotic sports sedan by all means unlike the 8/9. Each have their advantages and disadvantages, as we all have different opinions and taste!
