Rubber lip on the aero kit

There is a rubber piece of lip attached to the botton bumper lip kit if you have the aero kit on the front. I must have hit a pot hole or bump somewhere and one of the clips or rubber pieces came off. Now the driver's side the rubber piece at the bottom kind of hangs lower...it isn't to noticeable but does anyone know how to fix something like this? maybe the plastic part holding the clip snapped. Chicago roads for the loss ... seems like it is easy for that to happen on these cars, heads up to those with the front lip.

i had it happen to me, i took it back to the dealership and they replaced it for free the first time. gave me the " dont bottom your car out " speech and said next time they had to charge me for the clips. it also took a week for them to come in... they couldnt have been that expensive

I had the rubber hanging down too. At first I asked my local collision center to fix it, but they said they asked the dealer if they can get a new rubber piece, and the dealer said you have to buy the complete aero piece.

So the place just drilled some holes in the kit and put some screws through it. It wasn't hanging anymore...but it looked a little odd - it was squished.

So I took matters into my own hands...I glued it. Unfortunately it came out worse than it looked before, with visible glue on my kit, and between the kit and the rubber piece.

Note to self.. When I get my MR with aero, watch the parking stumps and such..

Sorry guys, I know this can be aggravating.. I have Tein S-Techs on my VIII with the Do-Luck lip on it.. Already killed 1, and it was a beeotch getting a new one. So I'm really, really careful..

BTW 628 go to your local home depot and buy a small container of mineral spirits, I do believe you could get that glue "which is extruding outward" off! The solvent works wonders and is very inexpensive!

Ouch that is even worse than mine . Sorry. Though I know that it would be easy to just take the entire thing off I kind of thing it adds a nice effect to the car. Mine is on the same side as yours and isn't as noticeable though but I now know not to use any type of glue. That is pretty lame that someone has to get an entire front aero kit just to get that replaced. I'll see what I do and get back here with it. If you ever want to get rid of the glue, some stores have this thing called "goo gone" and it supposedly takes glue well off.

Problem for me is that I have to tackle a lame stump every time I get on and off my drive way and on the way to work

People still tell me to lower my call In IL and the aero kit? haha yea right

I'll see, I have to stop in at Mitsu tomorrow. by the way, do you plan to stay with the cone filter for good or upgrade eventually to one with a pipe?

Went with the AMS single I see. I'm going with Buschar dual.

You have to have both the plastic expanders and the metal retainers. You have to get the parts for Mitsubishi. If you don't also use the metal retianers the lip will droop. The plastic expanders are around a buck, I was always buying them for my Montero and the metal retainers are probably about the same. Look at the undamaged side to make sure you get all you need. There's something like 12 or 14 total under there.
