The Shorter fatter filter fits all Evo's up to through the current '08 models... The longer skinnier filter is off of the Lancer... I just did an 08 lancer and that is what it has...

Some dealers may choose to just stock the one filter... Of course, they are interchangeable so it really doesn't matter.. If you want the shorter filter, I sell it in the WIX for $4.50

I never stated that the other filters don't fit; only that they changed filter design after 2004 or so. And when the redesign took place, a lot of dealers only carried the new design filter.

 

What is the Amsoil Part # for the evo X oil filter?
Does the evo X share the same oil filter as the evo 9or ralliart?

 

AMSOIL EAO-46 for the EVO

AMSOIL EAO-13 for the Lancer

Same threads, same internal Specs... 46 is a "fatter" filter... 13 is a "skinny" filter.
