You can destroy the drivetrain in less then a minute if your an idiot test driving a brand new car....
Evos and most turbo cars or nice cars in general usually have "break in" periods which means stay off boost or under 5000rpm for 600 miles so the car new parts get used to heating up and cooling down..dont wanna screw up your new turbo right?
Many evo owners also change their oil shortly after the break in period.
And thats why people dont like buy new cars with xx miles on them...although I had 19 on mine im at 46000 now...and just replaced clutch..

ditto. South Coast ftw. My clutch is 'strong', no rattles and OE Compresion. It's like I bought a brand new car lol imagine that

To buy my X I ended up going to SCM and they made my day

let's face it most of us with miles on our cars when we bought them were beat on by someone else. if they didn't buy the car most likely they just wanted to drive a fast car.
keeping it under 5000rpms is one thing. not boosting is another. we all boost during hte break in period just not full spool.

Yeah, I’m a little skeptical about the “higher than normal” reading but to be honest, if I had bought the vehicle directly off the showroom floor or lot I think I’d be more concerned with that particular number. I know they had to call around to at least 4 or 5 dealerships to get this particular Graphite Grey one delivered here, so maybe they could be speaking truthfully (yes I know, "dealership" and “truth” don’t often exist in the same sentence).
In any case, I’ll double check with them but I suppose there’s no real use stressing over it unless the car really was driven in rough. Thanks for the help, guys. Cheers!

If yours is the one that had the aftermarket radio put in I drove it on a test drive. Gave it a bit of a run but nothing serious. I know that I was not the only one so I can not speak for the others. I got the same 99Kms on delivery for my MR but I have told them to call me as soon as the truck arrives. I will be there to oversee the whole process and check mileage. Nothing out of the unusual yet; just some of the few perks here and there that most people have mentioned. When the engine's cold there's a slight flutter around the 600rpm idle, and I have yet to check on the post-5k rpm hesitation since I'm still in the break-in period. 2nd and 3rd gears are a little bit notchy but tend to engage a little bit smoother once fully warmed up. I'm going to see about getting the reflash the next time I bring the car in but so far everything else is great.

480 KM's on mine.. They are in short supply in Canada, and all of them are being test driven lots.. But I got the dealer to drop a few hundred below MSRP on the sale as compensation.
Car drives like new except for the misfire problem.. which a reflash should cure
( right ).
Not a mark on it anywhere when I got it, but the material quality on the car in not so great so I am thinking it will start looking old well before its time anyway...
That's ok just so long as it rips!

In Manitoba they aren't allowing any one to test-drive the Evos.
Drove mine off the lots at Vickars with only 13kms on it.

thats no big deal. My dad works at the dealership I bought my GTS from and it had 47 miles on it because they had to get it from another dealership as well. You are even more safe because dealerships aren't supposed to let people test drive the EVOs and some won't even let the salesmen drive them either. They know people aren't going to want an EVO with miles on it already.
i know a couple guys that work at the local mits and tested** a couple evo x, they even raced it vs a evo 9 on the hwy , and they also tried to drift them in the parking lot ,lol
