How to relieve your syncro crunch!

I do believe this is a fluid related problem, so my friend and I at work began to talk about what was going on and how we could fix this problem (temporally). Once the car sets the fluid simply drops to the reservoir, leaving very little fluid if any on or around the syncro's. So I turned the car on, held the clutch in and went through the gears a half a dozen times to get the fluid pumping and no crunch was present when I finally took off. Just a thought

I do this on my Ralliart and it seems to do the trick.

Nice observation and good testing! I will add this to a side note of mine on this particular issue. Good job!

Not exactly something I want to do every time I get it the car for the rest of it's life, but a decent temporary solution if it works. Hopefully Mitsu releases a new fluid or something soon that solves some problems.

I only do it once maybe twice and only in the wintertime. Doing it once normally smooths things out enough. Slight syncro crunch is not bad as long as the gears are not grinding.

All you are doing by going throught the gears is lining up the syncros. Thats not really going to do anything other then make your gear changes a tad bit smoother for 2 seconds. Once you start driving it goes back to how it was before.

It is normally only the first couple shifts that are tight on my car when I first start out. After that is is very smooth. I only do this when it is very cold and it seems to help that first shift out. BTW I am running Redline MT90.

i dont know how I did it with my X. but my used to crunch ALL THE TIME. but after my first autocross event. It has been completely quiet every since. and that was about a month ago. So I dont know if they have to break in a little bit or what but that was the trick for my car...not saying that this is the fix....just food for thought.
