If I had $1500, I'd actually probably sit on it and see what other tuning options come out this summer.

If I had to spend it right now, 3" Exhaust + Tune + MBC

Check out the link in my post above. The baseline is my car with: intake, upper I/C pipe, I/C, catback and MBC at 24psi. The gains are from the tune and 3psi of boost. Look at the gains around 5,500rpm, close to 130whp. Have fun getting those gains from bolt-ons
I plan to get some type of tune and not stick to just bolt ons. I can feel on my butt the dips in the the power band when the car back fires . Those must go. I need boost suction into the seat all the way to 7k rpm darn it . I'll give AMS a visit and talk to them about it. I'm just wondering if that is a safe tune for a daily driver. Also what is up with the taper, has AMS tried to adjust the waste gate yet? I was holding out to see what the Procede from Shiv and Vishnu offers though this is starting to look good.

The car has over 50 horsepower stock, you already met your goal and didn't even have to buy a single thing

its your car and money, but for drop in i would buy the HKS one. If i'm right over $70 cheaper. And that $70 can go some where else.
Also the ECU tune or reflash will give you more then 50 hp gain alone.
So i didn't read the whole post but here is my opinion.
-HKS drop in $50
-Exhaust cat back
-test pipe
-And a tune./ Ivey tune, he managed to keep 24 psi and drop 20 at a redline.
So no boost controller needed./

You will be way over what you originally want and you will be on budget too.

ps Ivey tuned the bone stock X on 93 octain 315whp and 312 wtq. so with the drop in + test pipe+ cat back you will have way more than that.

From: 2 places
dtm stage2 intercooler with griffin core (best out there)
works air filter
works gutted stock muffler
Mil.spec 100cel cat section
nisei uicp

that wil probably be just under that, but you should be able to run for a while without tune but with more power because of leaner afr

then do works intermediate pipe once it comes out and staple with a tune

That exclude tune etc.

Can someone give me good set-up of exhaust, intake, pipes etc

EDIT: 50hp goal

^^^^^thats cool guys!

the reason i am not getting a tune or ECU upgrade is because i am afraid if anything went wrong with car and warranty issues at the dealer.

This is my first turbo and 2nd manual car

I will stick with bolt-ons for 1st year until i learn more about cars

$1500 worth of gas... that way in 6 months when prices shoot through the roof, you'll still be able to drive your X to work instead of the pedal bike.

Anyone worried about voiding warranties with the ECU flash tune? I know I know we drive mitsubishis so we dont have one ... but still..it is a new car...it will be harder to pull a lemon law if something really does happen.
