It is better than my '01 Eclipse which is horrible but not as good as the WRX ...also an AWD car (WRX has a 35 ft compared to the 38ft with the EVO) so it is not just the AWD

But again, compared to the 40ft radius of the Eclipse it is great...I stopped trying to do U-turns in the eclipse.

haha. i know what you mean, my 03 had crap for u-turns. i got to the point of just pulling into a parking lot or turning onto a diff road at an intersection and then turning in a p-lot then coming back out.

Drive an STI around corners, chicanes, slaloms or anywhere else quick transitions are required or quick controlled response and you'll quickly forget about having to do k-turns everywhere in the EVO. The 15:1 steering ratio in the STI numbs its response to steering inputs compared to the EVO VIII/IX's 13:1 which IMO responds perfectly for the daily driver who wants a really good responding car. That's the reason the EVO goes where you point it without delay unlike the STI. Honestly, I hate the steering response of the STI. So do most others that's why an aftermarket quickrack is offered for it unlike the EVO. And if you look at the top handling STI (Spec C) the steering ratio is 13:1. So if you don't want to k-turn everywhere but still want turbo power and AWD then get an STI. Me, I think I'll settle for the 13.3:1 steering ratio of the EVO X.

I had an RX-8 and that thing could make turns like no other car I'd ever been in. I feel like I have a SUV when making U turns with the EVO.

You can't expect a FWD/AWD car to have the same tight turning radius as a RWD car. The front axles/joints won't allow it.

Lol my friend has an rx8 and does something like that video on youtube someone posted. IDK if its the AWD because our audi a6 has an AMAZING turning circle and can bust U turn on some really narrow roads.

that youtube vid was awesome haha. but for u turns go right a little bit before you make the u turn if you can. it gives you a little more space. no big deal.

38 ft is about the same as my suv I drive most of the time and still less than the truck I had before. I didn't even think it an issue until it was brought up on the forum.
