Is it just me or can anyone else NOT access the Evo X article from the website... ?

In every comparo except for the one in the UK, the X was #1. Motortrend and Road and Track picked the X over the STI and the R32. I'm not sure why they even compared the X MR to the 135i. Either way, the X blew the 135 away on the track. They liked the 135 better to live with everyday.

 

That comparison between the 135 and X Mr was crap they should have used a GSR plus they are two different types of cars, When most people talk about a BMW it is usually along the lines of what type of leather do you have and does it have navigaton when some ask about an evo most of the time it is along the lines of so have fast have you got that thing, I heard those are pretty quick, etc... So anyways I boycott that comparison.

 

The X has won every comparo test in every magazine. The reason that it lost to the 135i was because it wasn't as comfortable as a daily driver. The X KILLED the BMW on the track though, and with the exception of the beamer being a HAIR faster in the straights, the X absolutely MURDERED the beamer in every other category. Hell, for the first time the evo is actually a good looking car and it actually won in the style department over the BMW as well. That article was stupid. When people are comparing cars performance comes first, comfort comes second. BMW FTL.

If you read each article, the X wins overall about everytime. If you simply skip to the end and read the acceleration numbers, its not always the fastest, but that is such a small part of the big picture. I have not met a single journalist that truly believes the STI is a better performance package. It certainly ahs its many pluses, but strictly on performance and feel, it is consistently slightly behind

 

Other than the 135 comparo...the X beat out pretty much everyone. To me...the 135 comparison was just completely based on the ergonomics of the car. When discussing cars like the Evo and Sti...I think "creature comforts" should be the last thing measured. I know I didn't buy the X for a comfortable ride...

 

I just read the article today. Sorry no scans. Apparently the Evo X MR blew away all the competitors...I think he even said 'superior' handling wise.

 

The 135i doesn't even offer an LSD, let alone AWD. All that power and you gotta hope you can put it all down through one wheel. No thanks.
