Trip computer question & Radio question

I'm sure this is super basic, and I skimmed through the manual and I must have missed it, but my "trip" computer for the mpg and average mph seems to reset itself after the car has sat for 3-4 hours.

I get to work around 9 and when I go to lunch at 11:30, it's not reset, but when I get in to go home at 6ish, it has reset. And each morning (both of them so far ) it's reset.

Is this how it's supposed to work? The trip odometer seems to be working as designed.

Also, the radio is really dim in the bright sunlight. I can press the button on the dash and the dash lights get brighter but not the radio. I'm tempted to not worry about it since the Nav gets installed next week.

You can set the trip computer to be automatic like you are seeing or completely manual.

You can change the trip computer reset to manual in the info screen settings. With the car on and in neutral, cycle through the screens by pushing the Info button until you get to one for settings. Pushing in the button for a couple seconds make a selection, and a quick push moves between options.

I don't know about the radio brightness, but I wouldn't worry about it if you have the Nav going in.
