Ive been in Corvettes and Ive owned a few motorcycles, and I know of other rare cars like vipers that do it and Im now going to do the same thing for any EVO X I see on the streets.

When I see you passing me or on the same road, im going to roll down my window and give you a wave. It's an acknowledgment to you that I recognize what you have and im showing you respect that we both own two superb automobiles.

IMO, these cars are going to be very rare so I wont be doing this all the time, which is sad.

if you see a Rally Red Evo X in northern virginia with his hand out the window waving, its me.

 

I would wave back. Other than at dealerships or at a dyno event, I have never seen another Evo X on the road yet.

 

Ditto , rare as hens teeth in my part of the woods.

I wave in my civic to other civics. I usually get no wave back or their inferiority complex kicks in and I get a rev and they run away

The Jeep community was much nicer when I drove a Grand Cherokee and drove around in my friends' wranglers. Everyone waved! Hopefully the EVO/Lancer community will be the same around here when I upgrade to one!

 

I always wave to other EVO owners doesn't matter if they are a X or not, All Evo's get a wave in my book.

I've gotten waves from (almost) every Evo and STi owner I've run across since I got mine. I haven't seen another X on the road yet, though.

The one who didn't was in a new '08 STI who was coming up from behind me on the highway. He must have floored it when he saw me, because the nose of the car shot up and he flew by at probably 90-100 and cut me off to get his riced-out heap back over to the exit. Asshat.

 

I wave to Evos . I only get it returned about 25% of the time, though .

 

When I had my Evo I would always wave at the others I saw and would usually get a wave back. I now have a Corvette and I basically ALWAYS get a wave back, sometimes they will even wave before me, it seems to be more a known thing lol.

 

seen quite a few evo X's around here, some guy in a blue evo X i waved to friday, he didnt wave back just stared at my car lol, but ive seen 3-4 X's around here

 

I wave at Evos and S2000s and Porsches all the time... Only about 10% get returned, like 1% if you don't count the guys I personally know. Only one Porsche has waved so far: A Carrera convertible from Colorado on their way to Le Mans here in Utah. The rest all look at me funny.

 

I'll just add that I too have not seen any X's around. I live in Orange County (for those not in CA, it's 30 minutes South of Los Angeles), which is supposed to be crawling with Evo X's....but nothing. Hope this doesn't continue for too long. I'd love to see fellow X's owners out and about!!! But for now, there are plenty sweet other Evo's roaming.

 

With Corvettes, Vipers, and motorcycles its kind of assumed you must wave. So many of them do it that it only takes about 2 that pass you before you figure out you have to do it. They even talk about it on their message boards.

It's kind of a grassroots thing that has to start from the ground up.
