Question How much Oil do you put in & What Type? What Filter? How Many Miles?

Just curious to see how much oil everyone is putting in their car, what filter they are using, and how often they are changing?

Please list the type of Oil used and # of quarts...

What filter?

How many miles before each change?

Thanks!

AMSoil 5w30 Around 4.5 quarts. 7 oil changes so far and everything is great.

Stock Mitsu oil filter for Evo's

First change at 500 mi, then again at 1,000. Usually change it after every other event, so 500 miles or so. Im a freak about clean oil though...

I am using Mobil 1 and the factory oil filter til so good oil filter come out. I belive i put around 4.5 quarts i cant remember, I just look at my dip stick and call it good lol. I do them at 5,000 just like they tell you to.

An other quick question. How do you reset the inspection gauge on the dash. It keeps saying i am due and inspection. And other way to reset it beside taking it in to mitsu???

Me personally, I change mine about every 3000 miles(however I did change it at 500 and at a 1000). I always change the filter when I change the oil using mitsu stuff. however I think I am the only one that just puts in five quarts. I get that 5 quart jug from wal-mart and just pour in the whole thing.

I had the same question. I "think" it's in the setup screen that you see with the car off but in the Ignition position. Don't have the manual here with me...but that's just a guess.

I put in 5 full at around 1500 miles. Its a touch over the "full" level but not dangerously so I don't think.

the engine should hold 5 qts or 4.8 liters.

check the mitsubishi website..

http://mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/e...s.do?loc=en-us

they suggest Mobil 1 full synthetic, i've always loved mobil 1

i really dont feel changing your brand new cars oil at 500 miles is necessary since..the car itself is in break in therefore the oil is still new and not even beaten or heated up ......in my evo 8 I just changed at 3000 miles..now im at 50,000 now, modded...

But when your building a race car like AMS I've heard they use mineral oil for the first 500....

5 quarts was a bit too much for mine. I'm gonna go a little less next time.

Its easy, hit the info button on the top right, go to maintenance option, scroll down to oil change and reset it. There are 3 user options for maintenance schedules your able to setup your own oil changes if you do them every 500 miles like BlackTrack does.

5w-30 mobil 1
Don't ever put mineral based oils in your evo x.

later,
kevin
