The Reason they went with the 5 Speed, is that its stronger then the 6, and more cost effective, The 5speed can handle more TQ and doesn't Burn up 4th gear under Extreme driving conditions i.e. Track Driving. There move to go with the 5 speed is a smart one. We all Know Mitsu kindof sold out when it came to the new EVO, But the MR is preaty nice with the SST 6 speed Auto-Manual. Go drive a an M3 with the SMG transmission in a tight turn style course, and you will be glad you dont have to take your hands off the stearing wheel to shift.

I am thinking to test drive one when our dealers here have the stock.

I would probably buy used X MR when the time is right, still enjoying my IX with little mods step by step.

Well the way I see it is....

I'm personally out of the spending thousands of dollars on making my car the king of the roads over here.. I've always had my DSM's and EVO between 400-500hp... I kinda tired of it nowadays cause of the driving factors involved.. Gas prices, more cars on the road, rough drive for daily driver, etc.. So that's one of the reasons I'm going with the MR's SST.. Yes I'll do minor things to it, flash, exhaust, etc..

But to be honest with you, or make a point.. All these SST bashers really don't have any weight in the matter of saying that it sucks.. Because it makes no damn difference if you have the 5 speed, or the SST in daily driing situations.. Or drag racing, or track racing.. The only big difference that it'll make is if you go BIG POWER out of your EVO.. And who really goes that far with their EVO's?? Other than actual shops.. Because that's all a part of marketing their shop and R&D for the car itself.. Sure there's a limited few that go off the deep end and really do go BIG POWA, but I certainly aint one of them to drop dime like that..

So in my hangover rant here.. All I can say is that the SST will be just fine.. It DOESN'T suck.. The 5 speed is not better, or worse... Actually.. The 5 speed could be worse because from things I've read in this forum, yall ***** fvkers can't drive for schit..

The End...

P.S. Where's my MR??

Not me, and there's no way I'll pay 43k or more for a fully loaded MR when I got my fully loaded for way way less. I love my GSR and do not want the MR.

I think the X MR is going to be like the second gen VW R32. Automatic and overprices, there are still new ones sitting on the lots and they have been sold for a year.

When the first Evos (GSR or MR) came out they didnt stick around, just like the first gen R32.

Mitsu effed up making it an auto stick, and they are gonna pay the price just like VW.

Over priced and auto = sit on the lot and rot
