Install my Boost gauge....

...i purchase a boost/vac gauge from AutoMeter. got everything hooked up and no leaks(i think). Have to say i did a pretty good job. How-To with pictures coming soon. Did everything without cutting, drilling, or hacking into the firewall. My question is why does the needle start at zero, without the engine started, but goes down when idling? it goes down like -20, to the vac side, below the zero. Is that normal? but when i take off the needle goes up and looks like its reading normally, good boost and everything.

like they said that is normal. it would be bad if there were no negative pressure while running. 20 vac is typical but as the car gets hotter the vac should increase when cold and idling it should be like 18-19 if 20 is where you run when warmed up.

here's the pictures...(mods can you move this to the proper sections. thx)

well when i got the gauge it came with no mounting cups so for temporary i had to make one from scratch...i use double sided 3m tape for the mounting, does the job well

here's where i T'd.

here's where i route it. through the fender and down into the rubber thing next to the door hinges..if u look closely you can see the tube

where i tapped into for power. if you take out the ASC switch panel, you'll see a green/white stripe.

the ground

thats all folks. any suggestions?
*update* my new pod gauge came in!\
new pod, same 3m mount(damn thing is strong!)
