You should just stick to keeping it stock at least for now and actually take time to research for yourself (or her). Besides, the stock Evo X will be plenty more than most people can handle anyways.

the reason you are getting flamed is because first off

1) you don't have enough experience driving a 400+whp car and she has none, all these mods and if something happens you guys will be dumping more money into the car

2) your dropping money into your gf's car (if anything happens one of you is getting screwed)

3) Age won't matter if your responsible and mature but your actions are not exactly falling into that criteria, you sound like a cool guy but your actions are not wise when you think about what can happen

4) THE MOST IMPORTANT, people here who are flaming you have either been there or know the consequences of such actions, a girl in a 400whp car with no driving experience in manual? your asking for an accident or even worst death

5) GL with your build an be safe but did you think with saying the background info you weren't going to get hammered? If you ever had a turbo car pushing 400whp you would realize what your doing , when making that power you will need a new clutch eventually and it will most likely not be one of ease comparable to stock

6) I tell you from experience as I would never let any of my friends or someone with so little experience drive my GT35r Turboed car, they could literally kill themselves unless they get enough time under the wheel, awd is great but won't save you from everything especially when the car is making more power than it was intended to and you WILL get the urge to push it as its exciting

 

ok i understand the flaming...i just admitted to it in my previous post that i should have presented the question differently.

1) admittedly i have not driven a 400whp car but i have driven a 350whp car (evo III 16g eclipse gst on 21lbs) and its fast as **** but its manageable. we have money to back us up if something does happen.

2) it's not my or hers money.

3) the only action i have taken so far was creating this entertaining thread.

4) just because a car is fast does not mean you have to drive it fast. im confident she will be just fine driving 400whp if we ever get there. i realize how fast this is and its not that ridiculous.

5) i have experienced a stage 4 clutch i stalled a few times but it did not take that long to get used to.

6) we will be careful. thank you for caring. that is really not sarcasm either

Your 18 and drive a turbo tc which is a joke to begin with. Ok 300hp cough cough on a tc is nothing like 300-400whp evo.

300hp in a 2600lb car would be really fast actually. but the tc weighs about 2900lbs.

what he's saying is that you could spend that money and get better performance-for-the-buck if you start with something stronger out of the box platform like the evo. albeit a lot of ignorant comments, i agree, boosting an fwd car is a joke.

just get the car and be happy. maybe your gf will be more than satisfied with the car being stock.
