i was at my local dealer today and i went to talk about ordering a MR. So the salesman get the sales manager and we started talking. he said he couldnt order anymore MRs, said each dealer only gets one. is this true? they had a few GSRs on the lot so i was thinking he was just trying to get one off the lot. i told him id come back in a few days and left. so my question is it true that each dealer gets only one MR?

I think it has to do with how much volume the dealer does.I bet Southcoast got more than one MR.

 

if thats the case it looks like im just going to wait till i get back from basic. all the losts around me have a few GSRs on the lot. if it comes down to it ill just fly out somewhere and drive it back to jersey.

Every dealership has this "secret" motto or a similar form/saying of it; "Sell them what you can see, don't see what you can sell them."

hit it right on the button. it's a basic sales tactic. he probably thought you'd be dumb enough to say "okay, i'll take whatever you have then". remember, salesmen get commission on cars they sell on the lot, not for ordering cars and/or even taking down deposits. your best bet is to keep in contact with the internet salesman. they're less of an a-hole.

 

Just get one from South Coast/or any dealer and have it shipped.

 

False, many dealers get multiple.

My dealer got three - I bought one and they still have one on the lot after two weeks. Incidentally, they also have 19 GSRs and have had most for months.
