Evo X vs Caliber SRT4

I was just wondering if anyone knows how similar these two engines are? I know they were design together but how far do the similarities go?

Different displacement, different pistons, different rods, different turbo. There are few similarities.

Smile Just the platform.

I heard that the platform of the Evo X was one of the only similarities. I don't mean to break your heart, but the Evo X is worlds apart in performance. I know that the SRT4 is one of the high-performance models in the Dodge line-up, but it's a total flop. I totally hate the look of that car. I agree with everyone else that Dodge should of made the new SRT4 in the body of the Neon like they did a few years back. But than again...I would still prefer the Evo X over it.

SRT4 isn't even close to a performance car as compared to any model Evo!

The caliber and the X motors are almost the same. The caliber has a bigger bore, mahle forged pistons, forged con rods, forged crank, VVT, tdo4 mitsu turbo, and 6spd getrag trans.

I don't think that Getrag 6 speed would be that simple to fit to the Evo drivetrain considering all the eletronics the 10 has controlling it...but then again I'm not a mechanic...who knows? Anything is possible...if you got the $.

Wait, isn't the caliber SRT4 FWD still? Why would you want the evo X to be FWD...odd
Isn't the I4 going into the hyundai genesis based on this engine too?

I was just wondering this because of reliability issues that might come up later on...

SRT4 and SRT8 are performance treatments given to 4 and 8 cylinder engines, not "a model" so dodge could make any of their cars an SRT model ... just as they have R/T models.

Thin of it like the MAZDASPEED versions.. OR M VERSIONS..

^+1...and the 4b11 will go into the Hyundai as well. There are actually quite a few similarities between the srt4 and the X....if anyone gets the chance, pop hoods side by side....almost identical top end (ignore the HORRIBLE bend in the SRT UICP-dodge doesnt do forced induction well anymore)
